Rose is a massive miss isn't he?

Probably but since we've won pretty much every game since he's been out and Davies has had to play every game (except one of those rare losses in the Semi-Final) without rotation or rest, I'd say the reason it's 0-0 at half-time has very little or nothing to do with Danny Rose not being on the pitch.

Looks to me like West Ham have been training for THIS game to the exclusion of all else for weeks. They've made the pitch more congested than I can recall us facing for a long long time. But we still should be 1-0 in front.

Is just like the Palace game. And kind of frustratingly when the 2nd half starts we'll suddenly start playing like we should have been in the first half, with a higher tempo.
Or maybe we let teams burn themselves out after 45 minutes instead of burning ourselves out?

No need to panic but it does need a tweak.

Need much more care on the ball for a start as we gifted possession away on countless times with Walker and Dier prime culprits.

Miss Dembele's presence in the middle and to link defence to attack and we also need Kane holding the ball up better to bring others into play.

West Ham, diligent as they were first half, will inevitably tire and spaces will appear just like against Palace - have faith and a goal i'm sure will come and probably earlier than you will expect.

The pitch looks so narrow, really struggling to stretch the game, might have to go 3 at the back

I was thinking this, is their pitch really narrow or is it just how it looks because of the camera angle/running track around the pitch??

Our lack of incisiveness much more about West Ham playing well and keeping their shape than our own being bad. We've not been outstanding, but only been a bounce or roll from getting in a couple of times. No need to panic just yet.

Difficult game, needed to get the early goal to bring them out as they're just sitting deep and we're struggling to create. Walker and Son not having great games.
Son needs to be on the left, predominately.

We need to build pressure. Need him cutting in and taking shots, need Dele jinking in the #10 position, drawing fouls and slipping cute balls through and could do with Eriksen on the right but tucking in narrow, leaving room for Walker and picking the ball up deep and working it through.

We're too predictable for spam and playing right into their hands.

Have two full backs been as poor in the same game for us this decade?

Davies thinks he has moved to west Ham and Walker is visibly shitt1ng his pants
It's a back four again rather than 3 so they aren't getting chance to push on.
Dier in midfield isn't working, he is weakest link tonight.
Either switch to a 3 or take him off for Dembélé. Suspect it will be Son off though in case we need Dier to slip into a 3 later on.

Very slow tonight, which makes us predictable. I've lost count of the number of times we've worked a position only for us to play backwards so we effectively have to start again........and our passing being so poor hasn't helped either. West Ham don't look interested in coming out to play and are just looking to win the ball deep and hit it long in the hope of catching us out and it's nearly caught us out a couple of times. Poor all round.

Dier out Dembele in. Apart from the tackle in the beginning, Dier has done nothing right. He gives the ball away in dangerous areas.

That weird cameo by Walk.Err there near HT, picked up the ball, went towards centre circle, stopped, went again and looked like he didn't know what he was doing.

You could see it from the off that we'd struggle to pick a pass with Wanyama and Dier at the base of the midfield, against a team sitting very deep.

When Eriksen dropped off we began to find a few small openings, but not enough.

Dembele needs to come on. He is able to commit opposition players, creating space for others

They are just letting our back 3 and wing backs have the ball and then stifling our attackers as soon as they get it. Not sure they could keep it up for 90 mins but we need to work them harder, it's all a bit lazy at the moment. Could be in trouble if they get the first goal.
