after the entire transfer window, we've gotten some very quality players and at the same time, earn 7.45 million. my question is, if we can somehow stay afloat at the 5 or 6th place, by the time we hit jan, the only gap we will need to fill up is the DM and striker role. if we splash all the cash we have at that moment for 2 players, how much can we spend approximately? and if we do get 2 quality players, i think we will have a good chance of making the top 4 - 5 next season, or maybe even right after january.

A defensive midfielder, someone to really put a boot in. Alonso would have been perfect, wish we'd have swapped him with Keano.

And another proven goalscorer or a striker of top quality, real international stuff. Arashavin would have been perfect, Huntelaar and Villa would have been better but we need to keep dreaming for that.

Time will tell what we need I guess. If Bent and Pav score goals and we continue to start with one out and out striker then we don't really need a new striker.

One thing we have enjoyed this season in our matches is a lot of possession in midfield and I simply don't see the need for a defensive midfielder like most other people. Zokora, Huddlestone and Modric can all play deep and pull the strings. I don't see the need for a Paul Ince style bruiser.

The only strings I see with Zakora, are the ones that get cut, causing him to fall over....... a good middle-distance runner, maybe, but not a serious PL or Euro player, imo

Also, look at Sunday's game. Modric came into his own when he was able to get forward and actually do something with the ball. Having him sit back in a deep position negates his strengths and the reasons we bought him.

A midfield general for me would link it all up nicely. While I love Zokora, I'm still not convinced. He can be bloody amazing 1 minute and then pass directly to the opposition under no pressure the next....very frustrating really!

Would also like a new striker but dependent on how well Pav and Bent gel.

That's it otherwise tbh....

A top defensive midfielder and maybe another top striker/centre forward.

If I'm being greedy then a left winger, Capel anyone, and maybe another Top defender to replace Dawson...

How about Michelle Marsh mud wrestling with Sophie Howard for half time entertainment...

We dont NEED arshavin, although arshavin fits the bill of the second striker we need to play alongside Pavlyuchenko.

We need good cover for every position, Corluka is direct competition for Hutton, and can do a job in CD if called upon, but we need a genuine center back, so id say a Central Defender, a Central Midfielder who sways towards being a more towards the defensive side, and one more top class center forward who can play link man between midfield and striker. It does not have to be arshavin, but him and pav would be an ideal replacement for the berb / keane partnership.

In Jan I would buy Capel or an alternative natural left winger, a centre back, a defensive midfielder with some guile and finally another quality striker.
