The answer is simple, support your club harder than they don't.

Spot on. It's annoying but people don't really change. You can just do the best you can do and hope others follow. Otherwise a catapult or something similar might do the trick.

I watched the Hobbit the other day. 2 hours 40 mins long.

I boo'd throughout the whole thing.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED.

Exactly would you boo in a cinema or at theatre just because you were not impressed with what you were seeing and you paid to get in.

I wish they would just fuck off and leave the stadium so the proper fans can get behind the team, the stupid twats

I think I have said this in about 10+ threads on this topic but I'll say it again, I have never seen a team play better or improve that is being booed

Get bought out by a wealthy sheikh or oligark. Buy loads of very expensive players, win the league.

Boo boys sorted.

And someone will still complain. Some people want to enjoy football others want to be miserable with it. Can't please them all.

Brain dead morons boo, they just do not understand that supporters are supposed to support, you have to pity them.

Ticket prices have a major impact on the atmosphere at the lane. Simply put, if people are paying a lot for a match ticket, then they will expect more in return.

But we have to stop the Boos....................any thoughts???
I'd ban anybody who boos from the ground, but that obviously won't happen.

I don't think that there is any way to stop it. The world is full of self-centred fuckwits who have a large sense of entitlement, and that is what booing is about. 'I paid my money so I have a right.....' etc. etc. They demand to be 'entertained' and feel entitled to 'show their displeasure' if their own purely subjective standards - whatever they may be - haven't been met. They don't get what to me, the 1882 Movement, and many others is self-evident: you love the shirt and support the team through thick and thin. Which means that you don't boo. Ever.

Your post was correct: it is a disease. Those who boo are a cancer but, as with cancer, there is no obvious remedy.

There's a vast difference in atmosphere between premiership home games and cup games. The 1882 guys at the cup games show how you can get behind the team and enjoy the game whereas at premiership games the boo boys come along as they have paid for their tickets (thanks goodness they aren't on auto pay!). At the cup games then the rest of the crows join in.

I can't see anything changing unless the club do something radical and allocate a proper section in the south stand for fans who want to sing.

Just assign a condition to being able to buy a season ticket. You don't have to chant or cheer but you cannot boo at all, but that sounds a bit extreme. Then again I always prefer the most extreme solutions. :joyful:

Whoever is appointed manager and whoever gets picked for the team, it's never ever going to please anyone. You can listen to people sitting near you at a game or read through a dozen different blogs or 50 different posts on a message board and everyone thinks they know best. People pay a hell of a lot of money to watch Spurs and yes, they have the right to feel aggrieved if they feel that they are being short changed but booing is so counter productive.

"Stand Up, if you hate the boos"?

"Piss Off, if you like to boo"?

"Boooooos are screwing up our season, why you gonna do it again, we wanna stop them, the boos from Tottenham, the boos in White Hart Lane"?

I wonder if you guys did do the top one, whether much of the stadium would even bother to stand... :(

and there in lies the modern answer..............surely no one who is a Spurs fan is really in it because they expect to win each week? That is not what we are brought up on.

I think part of it is that we've seen two wins in the league all season, 2 of them 1-0 by peno's. The home form has been terrible. Maybe more of the issue is our form at home rather than the crowd?

I've a season ticket and I've not boo'd all season, the only game I would have done was the Liverpool game but I left with a couple of mins to go, something I never do. It's been a frustrating time down WHL this season.

It doesn't help, but it's really irrelevant. If we win playing dull football they will boo. If we win playing great football some will still find a reason to do it. If we played great stuff until the end of the season and finished second because of our last home win, some pricks would still boo at the end of the game because we hadn't won the league.

They're just stupid, self-serving, entitled, dumb fucks. They love themselves, not the club. They don't know what 'support' means and they don't deserve to be there.

I've argued against the many threads constantly having a go at the fans and I stand by what I said before. Blaming the fans for Avb being sacked or the team and club underachieving is bullshit.

Having said that, I can't stand the booing and it is beginning to ruin the experience for me. Luckily, most of the season ticket holders around me in block 28 are a decent bunch.

There are a few exceptions, including one tit who used to boo Gallas every time his name used to be read out and who has moved on to other scapegoats.

At least he's quiet though. On boxing day there was a guy who spent the whole game abusing Chadli. Now I'm no Chadli fan but I've never heard of a player improving from being abused by their own fans. It wasn't just a few frustrated exasperations either. It was just constant abuse. At first some people were laughing at the guy but it got worse and worse until he was just standing up and screaming " Chadli, your nothing but a useless fucking ****".

Eventually someone challenged him, to which it was clear "he'd been coming since 1971 mate, blah, blah, fucking blah, what's your problem" etc.

Just a total utter wanker. But not a season ticket holder, nor a new fan who'd never seen a shit Spurs team. So you can't just pigeon hole the booers and *****. There's nothing we can do about it either and unfortunately the longer we go on shooting ourselves in the foot as a club the more ammunition these ***** will have.

It's not just a Spurs problem either (there were arsenal fans calling for Wengers head because they couldn't beat Chelsea the other day!) but obviously as Spurs fans we are only focusing on us.

No doubt the atmosphere is getting poisonous though.
