Practically 7 points off the Pool. That's in a whole season form close to 17 points. That's the position he inherited.
i believe if AVB would have been in charge the points total at this point would have been roughly the same.
Although im glad AVB has gone and i was pro AVB.
Like i said 2 points of 4th, walk the walk

Even if you want to discount the fact that we were 6 points (practically 7 points) off the Pool when he took over, you can't discount the GD now, so it's practically 3 points as catching GD is pretty impossible mountain to climb as AVB gave Pool +10 headstart (actually more, but just based on corresponding fixture) and home advantage on top of that.

Stop wearing under armour thermals, people look tits wearing them and you don't need to.

Seriously though, even if he got 4th I really doubt he has the ability (yet) to be able to sustain a top 4 place. Harry was seen as a manager who would get us there but to continually keep us up there is another story. You have promotion managers, premiership managers, top 6 and then top 4. Its a bigg jump to the top 4 and that's where experience plays a big part.

Im probably talking shite but hey, that's why I don't post in spurs chat.

If you think TS cant overcome a 3 point deficit, he is not the right man for the job.

Pool has home advantage on top of that and playingwise he is picking up pieces of broken puzzle. Don't think there is single manager in the planet that can guarantee 4th spot (some might achieve it, but none would have odds on their side ie. wouldn't achieve it most of times) from his position. No man is right for the job?

We have the best away record in the league.

It is about results: so far so good, in the Premiership at least, and there were extenuating circumstances in the cups; but he needs us to stay in or around the top four, regardless of position we can't fall too far adrift on points.

It is about performances: again, on balance, so far so good, at least compared to the turgid football played by AVB, but we will look to see an improvement once he has actually had some time to work with players.

It is about getting value for money from our big investments: Adebayor back in the fold and looking good; promising signs from Soldado and Paulinho; work still to be done with Lamela; of the others, some will come good others fall by the wayside, but that is to be expected.

It is about implementing the club's long term strategy: he has put down a big marker by playing Bentaleb, and that in my view has been an early win for him, the lad has not looked remotely out of place; but now Tim needs to demonstrate that there is a clear path from the development squad to the first team.

So long as I am continuing to see progress in all those areas, I would see his replacement by anyone, regardless of reputation, as an unnecessary gamble.

Not be a Harry clone and actually show some progressive thinking, some tactical savvy...

Even if I don't like the guy and I have made that abundantly clear, I am not stupid enough to shit on someone doing a good job.

For me it is not about points on the table, it is not about winning silverware, but it is about showing me he has the capacity to do his job, use the squad to it's strengths, change formations if need be, sacrifice when you need to sacrifice. Everything is okay, even playing boring negative football, but the best managers know when to apply the answer to the question when needed.

Playing Bentaleb could be his biggest mistake.
Bringing him on against Man utd while we under the cosh, was a mistake that he wont keep getting away with.
Here is the young lads stats in that game

Not what you want while your under the cosh.
Yes i want to youth coming through and doing well, theres a time and place for it.

We shouldn't accept anything less than the best.

If he doesn't win the Champion's League this season, get rid.

Being within a few points of 4th and playing well and getting the best out of most of our shiny new toys would probably get him the job. Actually getting 4th would nail it but I think Levy will see if we're going in the right direction under Sherwood then perhaps 4th just wasn't realistic this season. Plus Sherwood is dirt cheap compared with Van Gaal.

If we're miles off the pace and if our defensive frailties are being exposed more regularly than our attacking virtues then he'll get the chop.
