Everton currently losing 3-0 to Atlanta in the Europa. To think they were predicting to beat us and thinking they could challenge top 4 :) deluded blue scouser ****s. Just as bad as their neighbours.

I'd actually like them to do well (though obviously not at our expense). Their fans are highly annoying at Goodison, but generally they're quite grounded.

Effortlessly bringing this back on topic, there are a couple of Everton fans at work who were begrudgingly impressed when we beat them, but both enjoyed our result yesterday (neither watched the Liverpool game, oddly enough). One of them said he hopes we win the league but reckons we'll struggle at Wembley, then the new stadium at first, by which point some of our big names will want out.

He's not the only one. Here's one of the less partisan posters on RAWK:

"Kane is phenomenal. That first goal yesterday was like watching a cross between Batistuta and Jonah Lomu. Absolute filth."

Jonah Lomu... :ROFLMAO:

He's right. That goal was all his own work and he muscled his way passed two players.

I've been on Arsemania to check their 'Let's still laugh at Tottenham' thread which was quite lively until the 7th of September where the last post was :

--------------------------

**** Tottenham.

-------------------------

It's been eerily quiet ever since that pearl of wisdom.....

Ok, so they have a Champions League section where there's more Spurs chatter:

-----------------------------

Spuds 1-0 up

This spurs back 5 is very solid if they build good understanding

Spurs (Kane) 2-1

**** off spurs

BVB keeper beaten twice on his near post.....Useless.

As much i hate Liverpool and Spurs,it would be good that teams from EPL come back on track. It's been a long time since they play good football in Europe.

Vertonghen > Alderweireld tbh.

Eriksen is class way Better playmaker than Coutinho

The refs are really ****ing Dortmund sideways here.

the linesmen are....two incorrect offside calls..

Pathetic decision by the linesman, disallowing Auba's brilliant strike. He was well onside. That's the second goal Dortmund have had wrongly disallowed tonight.

Kane doing it in Europe now? Was a matter of time tbh.

That harsh on Dortmund

F##king Tottnumb.

Don't know why people are surprised. This is almost the only way Tottenham win games these years. Trash side.

Harry effing Kane. ****er can score though. Dortmund been shafted by the linesmen but they've let in cheap goals...

Dortmund robbed here.

**** off spurs just destroyed my toto

even with 5 officials on the field they **** it up. Making a mockery, once again, of UEFA's stance on refereeing

Even though they are losing , great ability on the ball Dortmund have

Looking at the better teams we are where we should be - we're a very good Europa League team. Tactically & the manner in which we approach the big teams we're behind the best by some way. (this was posted before they went 1-0 down at home to Colgne) :D

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier they were discussing the Celtic v PSG game and I couldn't help but notice the following post

I like Rodgers. Might be the manager we will go after when Wenger is gone.

Followed by.....

Now you're talking sense :ROFLMAO:

Kane being compared to Jonah lomu has tickled me.

Personally think he's a hybrid of Ryan Gosling and Forrest gump's son.

From the swans:

I'm going to be optimistic and go for a 4-0 defeat.

My Dad's a Spurs supporter and so generally I just hope for a draw in these games. To be fair this is at Wembley as well but knowing our luck we'll be the team that sees Spurs break the curse.

On the other hand I imagine we'll be seeing a response after that woeful display on Sunday.

A 1-1 game for me. Swansea to score first with Spurs rescuing a point.

So you're a Swans fan and you don't want swans to win?

Spurs have a tough game v Dortmund on Weds ......ever the optimist I'll go 1 all

0-1 and about bloody time

I think (well hope really) that we'll play better on Saturday.

Can't see us taking the 3 pts though sadly. Draw at best.

What price that, with it tied at 1-1 with 5 minutes to go, Llorente comes off the bench and nuts in the winner from a corner?

I'm just going for a nice day out with no expectation whatsoever, so who knows, I might get a pleasant surprise.

Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

Spurs so far W0 D1 L1 F2 A3, at home. Don't know if that's a good thing, or not?

Wembley makes it anyone's game.

So you're a Swans fan and you don't want us to win? Fuçk my eyes.

Urm...no? Of course I want us to win. Do I THINK we'll win? Absolutely not based on last weeks performance.

Boy oh boy you guys are jumpy today, just got a soft spot for Spurs is all no harm.

I'm going to be optimistic and go for a 4-0 defeat.

Feck it, after the last game I'm done being optimistic.

Myself and Mrs MJ going. Zero expectation between us, hoping we can somehow scrape.

After Sundays performance can see this being a repeat of last season's fiasco, I hope not!!
The hair and the beard have gone I am now conforming to society, tis a sad day The b*stards are coming back though

I would assume for this one we will have 3 at the back so there's someone spare to pick up the runs of Alli & Eriksen and generally deny them space in the box. Might make us a bit toothless but if Wilf plays a major role, at least we'd have someone able to hold the ball up and wait for support which was always a problem with that system. Can't imagine we'd be stupid enough to match them up and try to outplay them, we'd get murdered.

Not possible to stop Erikson who is still playing well. We would probably have to put Carroll on him with Clucas picking up Ali.

We are aching for a playmaker such as Mesa to be a bit more positive and quick thinking. But our shape is down to tactics and the best we can hope for is a good battle and hit them on the break or score from a set piece.

Pity we don't have anyone to kick Eriksen ten feet into the air,TommySmith style.

Hopefully, we won't sit back in respect and admire him

This isn't an important must-win game for us, and I couldn't care less if we lose 6-0 so long as our lads start to play well. It's our home matches up to the New Year that we need to focus on.

From the Shed End regarding CL:

Great strike from Yarmolenko.
Great goal by Kane.

This Tottenham-Dortmund match has been great so far. Plenty of action and three goals in the first 15 minutes.

Spurs outplayed for an hour, lead 3-1...Dortmund's keeper, along with assistant ref for ruling aubameyang goal offside, is an embarrassment...Burki not even good enough for Qarabag

spurs have bought well this window. unbelievable how arsenal have fallen behind them as the 2nd best in north london.

The only star name people probably recognized was Auba. Probably their B side because their squad is severely depleted. What's worse is that they try to play fast football against a Spurs side that has no problem parking the bus and smash them on the counter

They also have a thread entitled 'Which rival player would you take at the club if you could?':

you can pick more than one, but ideally only one player. for me it would be Christian Eriksen. i have been a fan of his for a few seasons now and he's just got better and better. 3 or so seasons ago he was a bit meh at times and was inconsistent, but the last 2 - 2 1/2 seasons he's come on a lot as a player and for me he's arguably spurs most important player and without him in the team i think spurs would struggle a lot more to create chances.

Dele Alli for me. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores more goals in his career than Lamps did.

It would be out of Kane or Jesus

Dele Ali.

Cause of our current squad conditions i'd probably say Dembele or Fernandinho to slot into the middle of the park.

I'd go for Paul Pogba if he wasn't such a dabber, its also a shame that Dembele has a chronic injury otherwise I'd go for him.
So I suppose I'd go with Deli Alli young English can play both CM and CAM.

Given the lack of centre mids in our squad at the moment I'd go for Eric Dier... despite his c**t-thuggery in games against us. Would add some much needed Englishness to the club as well.

Harry Kane. Fir the same reason. And he's a quality striker. Morata and Kane would be a fearsome duo.

Had to laugh at the bit about us parking the bus and smashing them on the counter. Muppet has already forgotten what happened at Wembley a couple of weeks ago.

Couple snippets from RAWK from the last few weeks:

Aurier has potential to be one of the steals of the window at that price; at his best, Aurier is a better fullback than Walker. However, his attitude stinks, and Poch hasn't done well handling egotistical nutjobs in the past.

Got to say selling Walker for 50m and signing Aurier for 25m is outstanding business.

Aurier seems to be an elite level dickhead

Auier is a great replacement for Walker but as another poster said on here - Llorente makes no sense whatsoever

If aurier can replicate his PSG form from 2 years ago, I van safely say he would be the best rightback in the league. He is currently better than walker and was bougt for only 23 million pounds. Sometimes I dont understand how these transfers work.

stayed out of the hoopla and bollocks of Jim White Day and strengthened on the quiet....Sanchez, Aurier, Llorente and Foyth all look decent signings

I think regardless of who Spurs bought this window, their season will still hinge on the form of Alli and Eriksen. If they both stay healthy, they will challenge. It is really that simple I think, the two of them are more integral to the success of the club even more so than Kane would be. And on the reverse, if Alli and Eriksen were to get injured or have bad seasons, basically that would be it for them I reckon.

Er Kane has scored 75 goals in the past 3 league seasons.

Every season when either Kane has been injured or has started slowly, they have still found a way to win (or at least draw) without him. But when Alli is out for example, Spurs have lost just under 50% of their games the last 3 seasons. Alli is essential for them, bar none. Eriksen too has been such a workhorse for them, a lot of their play goes through the two of them.

If you asked a Spurs fan who they would least like to lose I'm pretty sure it would be Kane.

Spurs are buggered when Kane and Delly A leave.

Spurs are a better team than Dortmund are these days. Just depends how much damage Wembley does to them.

Wat?

He sold all our egotistical nutjobs. That's a pretty good fucking way of dealing with them.

Meh I dunno. He handled him by sending him out on loan after a training ground bust up. He soon got rid of the 'supposed' trouble makers at Spurs, like Adebayor, Kaboul and Lennon (if you believe the reports that they were a troublesome group). Also Bentaleb supposedly had an attitude problem & offski he went. And Walker.

So he generally gets rid of them. His real test will be how he deals with Rose eventually and Aurier if he's naughty again, which I don't think he will be. If the past is anything to go by, Rose will be on his way if he shows signs of attitude problems or disruptiveness.

You could argue that someone with better people skills may have transformed them and kept them at the club to make them great again, but most of the players mentioned above were old and set in their ways and I very much get the feeling it's 'get with or get out' with Poch. That's part of the reason we're challengers now.
