Mostly people believe it's an agenda because it doesn't fit theirs. I qualify or at least try to, just about everything I say, and the rest is done with a bit sardonic venom, if you want to hang off it and let it bend you out of shape, knock yourself out.

Sure it is.

Walker's problem isn't technique*, it never has been - the guy can absolutely drill a football for instance either flat or with curl, its always been what goes on between the ears. He isn't decisive enough with the ball at his feet, he doesn't have a picture of what he wants to do the vast majority of the game (the moments he did 'just do something', it often worked, and were surprisingly good), he doesn't particularly read or anticipate the game well or position himself well, in either facet.

I said the other day during the England games that Guardiola has got him thinking about the game more and showing signs of improvement in this aspect, but I don't think it should be much surprise he's been asked with a simpler, 'tactically limiting' role.

*apart from that infamous 'half volley with fade' backpass he still insists on trying.....

BC, Bear, CoyBoy, this is vintage SC.

All we need is TOY or DCBoy to come in with some ridiculous comment and it’ll be like I’ve travelled back in time!

The latter is currently defending JJ on bbc/btpunditscommunity.com

I can't tell you how I know that.

And I'm never sure that using what other fans say on message boards as any type of benchmark is a good thing.

And for fuck sake nobody point them in the direction of the thread on Josh Onomah on here...

I don't think it's technique per se, it's technique when under pressure, and again, that's about what's between his ears, the ability to be composed under pressure which comes from good cognitive function.

A bit more from Oatcake about tomorrow - sounds like Stoke are missing almost all of their attacking options:

So, Mame is doubtful, Berahino is on the naughty step and Choppo is injured.
We have Crouchy to look forward to then!
Oh the joys......

So no Stafy and Choupo, with Diouf very doubtful, Berahino joining Afellay on the naughty step and Jese seemingly having joined the Village People. Our meagre array of options just keep getting worse.

For me:

Butland

Cameron
Shawcross
Martins Indi
Pieters

Bauer
Ndiaye
Allen
Ramadan

Shaqiri

Crouch

Subs: Haugaard, Edwards, Zouma, Fletcher, Ireland, Campbell, Jese

We've got to line up in a way that at least has the possibility of giving Spurs some problems. If we just try to contain them the game will be over long before the 90 minutes are up.

When did one up front last work for us? Two up front needed in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2.

A point would be brilliant and a morale-booster.

I wonder if Walker feels like he's kind of cheated to get this premier league title. He grafted with Spurs for so long it must feel like he found a cheat code for his life and just used that.

Meh

Probably not, the 120k he's making a week will definitely offset any of those type of feelings.

It's easy to criticize but would you turn down 120-150k a WEEK just to keep your "soul"? They worked hard to become pros and had to sacrifice a lot, let them enjoy their rewards.

That's a bit of a daft question when the average wage is around £27k p/a.

These guys would have already been earning easily enough to sort them out for the rest of their lives, so the jump from £60k p/w to £120k p/w wouldn't be that "life changing".

Are you speaking from experience?

Put Davies' footballing brain in Walker's body and you'd have a world class footballer. Davies is so good at attacking opportunities, whereas Walker is still trying to decide whether he wants to cut inside (he does) or cross (he can't).
