Does raise the question of how the league would look with VAR - I mean both Liverpool and city have had a huge amount of good fortune (we’ve had some too).

Sooner it comes in, the tighter games will be making it a much more challenging and open league.

I thought the ref was very decisive last night without making himself the centre of things like many Premier League referees do. He took the VAR advice and gave clear decisions from them. During the game he let play flow but did not forget to go back and book/have a word with players after fouls etc. If only all referees gave off such a professional air

Actually in the midst of this drama the ref was forgotten but he really had a good game and with so much at stake. A few decades ago British refs had the reputation of being if not the best certainly among the best. But their blatant biases towards teams like Chelski, Man U and Arsenal have tarnished their image (just the last 1 1/2 both ManU and Chelski got wins gifted to them).

I’d forgotten how f*****g outrageous that decision was. Don’t forget the ghost goal at Stamford bridge when Gomes let it through his legs and the linesman guessed that it had gone over the line
Or when Nani dived in our box and grabbed hold of the ball before letting it go to Gomes. Only for him to attempt to play out and have Nani pounce on it and score, all because the ref hadn’t blown for a free kick.

Didn't even need VAR for that one against Chelsea, that was goal line tech that we needed and that too should have come a decade at least earlier than it did.

Yes VAR will take some of the joy and elation out of celebrating goals. But as long as it keeps improving and the rules are clear and consistently applied, fairness will prevail. And that is golden.

You look at boxing and how corrupt that's been. This will stop bad decisions and stop referees trying to give an advantage.

There was no contact by Son on Moses when Atkinson gave the penalty. It looked like there was contact but there wasn't. Turned the game just before half time.

Moses did the same against Arsenal in the final and got sent off for a second yellow.

Has this been posted?

This is the best thing ever.

I don’t quite get why Cundy is supporting City so passionately here?

He played for us so surely would make him a bit more loyal to us than City.

I don’t tend to pay much attention to him so is he usually quite anti spurs?

I think he has a soft spot for us, he talks reasonably well of Poch and the team, he just doesn't want us to win things

What? Leave Liverpool? The greatest team in the Galaxy? That same Liverpool?

A few other teams fans are shitting it now. They think we are going to win it. I remember they were all laughing when we were hanging on by a thread in the group stages and now they're bricking it.

Can you imagine our first major trophy in the PL era could be the CL. Im hoping us and pool make the final.

If we manage to beat Ajax, yeah, I would feel far more confident in a one-off match against Pool than Barca. We have the familiarity, and the teams know each other. Messi would ruin us.

That’s what my head says, but my heart says a final against Barca would be amazing. Especially if we won.

Going to be very hard to get past Ajax though.
