But it will only ever make them look like virgins
I mean not to de-rail this thread too much but dude... make them look like virgins? Lazy insult.

As for the whole idea of why people join other forums? I'd imagine it's on the school of thinking of talking to someone outside your normal circle. So in an ideal world it's talking to others who like football but happen to be into another team and then having a conversation with them.

Idealistic as shit, I know, but that'd be a reason behind it. Ultimately though it's the internet and forums so you'll get your GlastonSpurs's etc... and people who just want the attention/just want to stir shit up.

It's just tossers who see us get a result vs City then don't pay attention against Bournemouth, West Ham, Brighton but still spout their opinion as if they watch us everygame.
Fans of all clubs are the same in this regard. I'd wager the vast majority of football fans only watch their team, clashes between the top teams, and internationals. Unless a player is either Maradona-level good or Mustafi-level bad there will always been a huge element of bias, group-think and judgment based on highlights/individual games. Apparently everyone just has to have a strong view on every player, so we're left with mountains of lazy, second hand opinions. Eventually the opinions of the real fans get heard and the hive mind catches up, but there's a significant lag between the two.

And to be honest I'm as guilty of it as anyone. I don't have time to watch every team so my opinions of players like, say, Mitrovic and Sessegnon, are based upon the odd Fulham match I watch with a dash of MOTD highlights and popular opinion thrown in. That said, I'll at least admit I haven't seen much of a player rather than pretending I'm Michael Cox down the pub or on reddit.

The best judges of a player are almost always the fans who watch him week in week out, so I wish people would actually listen a bit more to them rather than lazily shouting "KANE IS OVERRATED". If he really was overrated there would be about 50 threads on here titled "Should we cash in on Kane?" and "Is Kane actually that good?" - that's the true test.

Of course it’s a lazy insult, but it’s not like I’m going to put energy into insulting them is it?

It’s just sad imo. I have just about enough time to talk about the one football team I sometime like, having the inclination to spend any of your valuable free time discussing some other shite team with its shite fans seems like a waste to me.

Yeah the only conclusion I can come to is anyone who can find the time to do that, really can't have a lot going on in their lives.
They're definitely not having much, if any, sex.
They're either virgins, or in love-less relationships.

Completely fair that it's sad to you. I'm not one to do it either. I don't look at other fans forums let alone find the need to make an account on one. Some people seemingly are just really into football to the point that's it's not just their club they follow but talking to people who are fans of other clubs.

In a similar-esque way to the whole social media side of things and finding people on twitter or instagram or whatever who have similar hobbies and engaging with them. General idea of each to their own and all that. The whole other people's forum thing isn't for me but I can see (at least somewhat objectively) the appeal of finding someone who's into the same sport as you and having a (hopefully) reasonable conversation/debate about it.

... or their dicks online and just wanna stir shit up and I don't endorse that but if being alive has taught us anything it's that people are dicks and will do stupid things for attention.

I mean, there's other options. They could be single, could just generally not be that interested in sex, could be going on forum's during their free time away from their partner etc...

Hell... they could just be very good at multitasking and on these other forums whilst also having sex with their partner. In which case kudos to you GlastonSpur if that's how you are living your life.

I've got loads of mates - not just over here (the states), but over there as well - who are Arsenal. I communicate with them on one of their boards in pretty much the same way I communicate with them in the pub. A bit of piss-taking, but mostly just footy chat.

I've been Spurs for over 40 years, so my Arsenal-loathing credentials are pretty strong. I can't think of a single occasion when I've wanted them to win, nor envision one. They know that, and I know how they feel about Spurs. There's a d-bag or two, but you could probably find one or two here if you looked for them. Most are ok, and as I said, a few are good mates. It's just one forum, and not a large one, at that. I tend to be as tribal about footy as the next fan, I suppose, but it's no big deal in the end.

I lerk in other teams forums for gambling purposes mostly. As clueless as most supporters of any club are, having a general idea of confidence levels and potential line-ups, injuries and form etc is handy and saves me having to watch games of teams I couldn't give a shit about. I don't post in them but if others do I think it's a little disrespectful to call them "sad", it's their free time after all.

Yep, it could be equally be seen as sad posting on forum all day which we do.

I dont understand how city have a fans forum when they dont have any fans?

Even though they win everything they are so fucking irrelevant because of the way they've done it.

I'm also not entirely convinced Pep deserves massive amounts of credit, I mean he inherited a squad with Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling and Fernandinho and then spent £625m in three seasons, it's not rocket science is it?

To sum it up I dont give a fuck about their opinions on football in the same way I dont respect Michael Carroll the lottery louts opinion on economics. They can fuck right off, plastic bastards?
That first line is a load of bollocks mate, City have a decent history and a strong fan base which has suffered a lot and stayed loyal, including going down two divisions. The current success might have attracted a few plastics, but at the core is a very dedicated set of supporters.

It was a joke mate?

I'm born and bred in Manchester so I'm pretty familiar with their fanbase and I know a lot of them lost interest during the early seasons at the Etihad hence the empty seat association. There is a lot of a strong loyal fanbase but there's also a lot of fans that suddenly became 'fanatics' after the takeover. I had a friend that sometimes didnt know who city were playing at the weekend and after the takeover was buying a shirt for his fucking dog with Dzeko on the back?.There are also games now that dont sell out and it is also very easy to get tickets for any city game. Put it this way ticket touts dont make a great deal off city games. They will always be tin pot for me!

Going on other fans’ forums isn’t something I’d do personally as I have no interest, but if every forum nominated one person via a poll titled ‘who could represent their club the best out of thousands of other losers’ then I’d be happy for Spurs to be represented by that v̶i̶r̶g̶i̶n̶ person.

I’m happy for people who are knowledgeable about Spurs putting people right in a friendly manner on other boards, without anger or arrogance.

I've visited other fan forums once in a while to check out what their opinion is on, say, a player we've just signed from them or whatever, but that's only very occasionally. But the idea of going through all the effort of creating an account, verifying the email address and all that and writing posts etc. seems a bit sad to me to be brutally honest.

I cant even bring myself to click on the links to other forums in here, I just wait for the nice people to cut and paste snippets.
If I'm honest, this is the only forum I've ever been on, or ever will.
Long live SC!
