You would think that a sensible option for our top scorer who is costing us a million pounds every few months would be to actually play him? He doesn't need motivation. He will score or help Harry or another player to score if they play together.
But not even an option in the poll. The hatred for this guy defies logic.

In fact I would have thought that is covered by the option of keeping him and trying to motivate him. Playing him would reveal his level of motivation. The problem with playing him in combination with Kane is that Kane is then pulled back to almost a number 10 role as we saw when Poch played him Kane with Soldado. Poch is not going to switch to 4-4-2 so what you are really saying is we should change the coach to fit Adebayor and I don't somehow see that happening. Keeping him as back up for Kane and playing him in Europa is covered by that option in the poll.

Put him as a steward in front of the Arsenal away fans next season. Two birds. One stone.

For Spurs? What are you on about?
The reality is Ade scored loads of goals under Harry and Tim as part of a 2 striker partnership.
He scored less under AVB and MoPo as the sole striker.

Yes for Spurs. I know he's played as part of a front 2, but not as often as he played up top on his own.

Most of his games under Harry were as a lone striker. Most of his games for AVB were as a lone striker. Most of his games for Sherwood were as a lone striker.

Our standard attack under Harry when Ade was in the side was:

Ade

Why do you take everything so seriously?
Answer the question I asked you. I don't think you are funny. That does not mean I do not have a sense of humour or take life seriously.
I just don't like the constant sneering from (mainly) you and others.
It stops people on here expressing their genuine views. I visit this site to hear what fellow Spurs fans have to say. Not to hear the likes of you sneering at what other fans have to say.

I didn't even reply to what you originally said.

Guess what- I also go here to see the views of other Spurs fans. It doesn't mean that I can't attempt to have a bit of fun in the process.

And many people on here express genuine/unpopular views.

I think your ideal SpursCommunity would be a place where only Spurs could be discussed with no jokes or negative remarks regarding the opinion of another poster. But it's not run by you.

And he had a very poor return as the sole striker.
Most of his games for Sherwood were not as the sole striker.
But the argument is a waste of time. Ade will never play for Spurs again.

I love jokes. You ain't funny-you are nasty.
You are not alone. Loads of people on the internet think it is hilarious to sneer or abuse. Sue Perkins. FFS.
Me-I like to be polite.

I would've voted Make Goddamn Motherfucking Sure That Soldado Is Put On The First Plane Out Of London Before Even Considering How We Should Treat Adebayor, But In An Ideal World We'd Ship Them Both Out This Summer, but I couldn't see the option.

You can start your own poll about Soldado if you like. Or any other of our other failures.

How did I know my man @prawnsandwich would be making his mark in this thread when I saw it?:sneaky:

Seriously though. Prawny, I like you but god damn dude! You're constant defense of Ade is just nuts. You'd think someone making that much money and whose been through what he's been through would want to work hard, keep his head down and play this game he supposedly loves as hard and as long as he can. But nope. He doesnt even do that. Look, Ade is a quality striker when he wants to be. Trouble is, he rarely wants to. He only wants to when he has a point to prove.

Also, what evidence is there of Ade working better with a strike partner? Because I can show you a 40+ game sample size of Ade working well as the lone striker, when he had a point to prove.

Also, Harry Kane has 30 goals as the lone striker this season! 30!!!!!! And you want to partner him up with someone who literally could not give a fuck that he is not in the team, couldnt give a fuck when he was in the team and doesnt work hard? It's honestly mystifying, mate.

Send him to do volunteer work in Togo.

At least he's helping his own people out.

I would be tempted to release him. At the moment he's useless. If it's clear he won't play for the club, he's draining money out of the club with no payback - whether it is weekly or monthly outlay, it still has to be spent so may as well do it in one lump sum and be rid of him.

Could try to reintegrate him but if that's not happening for whatever reason, there is no point him being around. It's a disastrous signing, all in all, after quite a good loan year and a few months at the end of last season, he's been a complete waste - and it was entirely predictable. He has a case of the Mido's, where he's good while trying to win a contract and then it all goes wrong.
