FA Cup Final for the tactical novice. You can bet your bottom dollar there will be a few so-called Spurs fans cheering on Arsenal and wanting a former Spurs player, entertaining manager and Spurs supporter to lose.
Honestly, every EPL fan outside of Villa should be rooting for Arsenal. England can't afford the hit to the club coefficients if Aston Villa and West Ham both make Europa. Southampton has a much better squad.

England is close enough to losing a CL spot as it is, no reason to make it easier...

I can guarantee you there are some people who hate him that much.
And if I live to be a 1000 I will never get it. If we lost a load of games or we played bad under him I would understand.

I get why people don't like him. He plays up on his 'tells it like it is' reputation whilst being as manipulative and deceptive as any manager out there.

He did ok as manager here and I don't want him to do badly or anything, but he's not a likeable man.

TBH, as much as I would hate to see Arsenal win anything, using my brain instead of my heart, I would rather Arsenal won it, as that would mean Southampton would be in the EL and I don't think they will be able to handle that and the league and will probably do an Everton. Southampton are more our rivals in the league than Villa at the moment.

Was a bit surprised today to hear he'd shot himself in the foot with the Benteke thing.

I don't know how wise it is to potentially unsettle your own key player a few days before a Cup Final :bored:

Tim knows how footballers think, bullshitting about not being prepared to let them go is more likely to unsettle them.

I did like his ploy though of suggesting that if Benteke sticks with him for another season he will get him a move to Real Madrid.

He may have a point at that. For a striker looking to big up his reputation there are worse managers to play for than Tim: whatever the team does your own stats are going to be amazing.

As much for Pochettino as Sherwood

Not really. Sherwood's only real managerial experience has come as a result of picking up a team after a managerial change. Our results tailed off under Tim after the initial "novelty" wore off, so it'll be interesting to see how his team play after he has time to train them in a longer capacity and sign his own players

Good goals from Arsenal though, hardly down to the fault of Villa imo

did you see their 3rd, they've been poor from start to finish, Tim's lost his last 3 now ain't he? Be interesting times at villa park next season now he's had his honeymoon period

First two were good though - especially the 2nd.

That was the turning point in the game where Villa were finished.

Sherwood: "There's a losing mentality at this club"

Don't remember him crediting the club when they were beating LIverpool it was all "I've done this and I've done that".

Seems to have big issues lining up teams against good sides. It'll be interesting to see if he's backed and what type of player he brings in - and whether he manages to alienate another squad after the initial up-and-at-em period. But despite that his approach should be enough to keep them afloat in the league by picking off the dross.

Would love it if Villa got rid of Benteke and were in a position to take Ade off our hands
