When is Comolli getting a goalkeeping coach?

Big Pat is certainly helping out. He was quoted at the Lane last week after running some training.

Various rumours about the post suggest that Pat and Robbo don't get on and that E(F?)NO would only work with John Burridge (who helped him so much at Leeds). If, and what a big if this is, that is the case, then it would make sense for Juande to decide if Robbo is his number one before appointing Budgie.

Rubbish, a top class goalkeeping coach will be able to improve our keepers much in the same way that Ramos/Poyet/Alvarez have improved our outfield players.

Agree fully, we've seen the decline of Cech recently and imo part of that is down to their GK coach leaving with mourinho and an inadequate replacement taking over - Cech has, since then, noticably gone back in his abilities.

In fairness Cech has not looked the same keeper since wearing that condom on his head.

The trouble is, being a great keeper doesn't necessarily make you a great goalkeeping coach.

Which was, doubtless, why Arsenal employed Bob Wilson to coach Seaman.

Of course a good goalkeeping coach can make a difference. And it seems to me that Segers made one, only the wrong kind. Eddie observed months ago that ever since he took over our keepers seem to have got worse rather than better. Is this a coincidence?

when we buy a world class goalkeeper. The advantage we would then have over CL sides signing him is we can ask him to name his best coach to work with at spurs

I do find it odd they sacked Segers immediately, but didn't seem to have anyone in line to replace him. Maybe he was just perceived to be one of Jol's men, I don't see this as he was there before Jol.

I am really not that surprised as 57 said Robinson has gone backwards over a period of time, and that has not all got to be Robinson fault?? And i would imagine he was perceived as a Jol man.

Gross brought him in. Since then Walker, Sullivan, Keller and Robbo have all lost the plot to a greater or lesser extent. Strangely, it seems to have taken ten years for anyone to realise there might be a possible connection.

And, seeing as Bubble has mysteriously transferred his affections from Stekelenburg to Amelia, I'd better provide him with a list of all the keepers with whom we've been connected, however tenuously, so he can have some real variety in his musical chairs line-up.

Amelia, Boruc, Brezovan, Cudicini, Green, Handanovic, Jääskeläinen, James, Kameni, Mandanda, Palop, Pelé, Stekelenburg

There may (and probably will) be more. Isn't Super Jens available on a free soon?

I think it's patently obvious that we are waiting until we sign a proper, competent goalkeeper. Then we will fly in a new GK coach to suit his needs.

No point getting a coach for Robbo, he's beyond help.

How about gettin Erik the Viking back!?!?!?

last time i saw him he was wearing glasses, what about Booby Mimms, i am not so sure what the summer holds for Robinson and spurs, i do think we will get a top class goalie, but lets face it when we signed Robinson he was a top class goalie IMO.

It's not just Robbo we need to consider. Will Cerny get his contract renewed?

We may also need to look for a backup keeper.

Young Englishman Joe Hart at ManC has been seen pulling off a few good saves lately.

There's a flaw in this cunning plan. What if our 'world-class goalkeeper' turns out to be another Fabien Barthez or Massimo Talbi?

No need for a new keeper(s) to be in place before we decide who we want to coach him. I guess the club are on the lookout and may have someone in mind, but they are not available until the summer.
