It all went wrong when we bought Kaboul,Taraabt and Boateng instead of the experienced quality players the manager wanted.

 100% agree as well as wasting £16 million on a fourth choice striker, we seem to have gone backwards ever since that summer!

The problem with spurs is the chairman and his friends. When will the rest of you realise this, the championship,is in the distance.
Did Villa, sell there best player, they told Barry,no chance. As usual we took the money.

Villa would have sold if Liverpool matched their valuation. ManYoo matched our valuation for Carrick and that is why he was sold.

I think it will be very interesting to see what happens with Villa this summer if they dont get champions league, think they may struggle to hang on to young and barry who has already indicated that he may very well leave if Villa dont get in the Champions league!

What would Barry add to the current Liverpool team?

Thats what,I expect from you.We are simply Utds feeder club and now we are playing there 5th choice forward up front.Whos next Modric,Hutton,Bale?
Thanks again Danny boy,all these managers and bad signings and everyone to blame but the board,i can see the championship in the distance.
Do you think they will build a 60k stadium for the championship!

Basically the short lived good days are gone.
Personally I wish MJ had been backed up with the right players, but that's in the past. Now, I'd say 50% of our current team is worse than what it was a year ago but with the right purchases now we can avoid the drop, however the rest of this season is not going to be good viewing.
On a footnote our striker situation was messed up in the summer and now the pigeons have come home to roost, but I believe we can remedy the situation.

"We won't get relegated" is my mantra tottenham_til_i_die, in a similar way to Fazza's AA obsession. I like to look on the positive side rather than drown in the glut of pessimism that envelopes this board on many occasions. We don't have a great side but we have a reasonably good one that had an awful start and a fair bit of bad luck. We are slowly on the up and if 'arry cannot keep us in the premiership from a position where, at the half way point we are above the zone (albeit on goal difference), then I'll eat my shoe. 'arry's bonus isn't going to go uncollected. It's not gonna be easy I know, but I will stay positive to the very end and I'm looking forward to our Cup games. Come on you Spurs!

I appreciate your decision to look at the glass half full rather than half empty, and it is probably more beneficial than doom mongering. I do think however that complacency, even on the fans behalf is dangerous, bcos it affects the collective mindset. The thing is we can definitely stay up, there is no question of that. But equally, we are in such a precarious position that survival is not a given.

We need new players in January, even if they are not long term solutions to our problems. What we need is to be short sighted at the moment, bcos that what crisis management calls for, and while we have past the point of crisis and made improvements, we are still very much in the crisis management lifecycle.

I've always backed Jol and said we should have kept him. BUT He is gone, looooooooong gone, Levy will never bring him back because that would mean admitting he was wrong, and he cant be seen to be doing that!

Whats happened is we sold all our good players!!!
Chimbonda - dickhead, but a very good RB, you dont get shit overnight.

Malbranque - hard worker, won back possession so much! Go back and watch it if you have any old games! Scored a good amount of goals, and currently has 9 assists, more than our midfield combined I think!

Defoe - im not even gonna say it

Mido - injury problems but a good centre forward when fit, show some faith in the lad and he would have come good, didnt we nearly get 4th when he led the line!?!

We had such a fantastic squad at the start of the 07/08 season, ok Jol got off to a bad start and never ever ever should have been sacked. But I feel the club has FAILED miserably in the transfer market. Selling good players, buying not so good ones for big prices. Chasing the flair players instead of buying the hard working good ones, who will give you a 7/10 every week rather than those who give you the 9/10 every 2 months or so.

Its a cycle of incompetance, Ramos had to make do with Jol's squad, now Harry is having to make do with Ramos' squad! Top that off we used to play some absolutely beautifull football, week in week out, under Jol. I cant even be bothered to watch us on MOTD anymore because we really are playing average football. Lets face it, the league doesn't lie we are playing football up to the standards of our league position.

Gone are the days where I could genuinely sit down with a goon at the pub, watch a spurs game and say we play as attractive football as you bastards, and have him agree.

Long gone.
