Which manager appointed to the spurs hot seat was the last to leave you feeling genuinely excited?

Glenn Hoddle. Tactically astute, flair football, did really well with England and Southampton, and a Spurs legend. I was so excited that I even bought a signed Glenn Hoddle shirt from the club. Looking back I'm still not sure where things went wrong, it's just a mental blackout.

I was really pleased when we signed Redknapp because he was just what we needed experience at steadying the ship and fighting relegation. It wasn't much exciting, as a blessed relief. I never thought we'd end up where we did. When we signed AVB I was pleased but he had far too much baggage to get excited about. It was a clear gamble after Porto then Chelsea. Although I was a bit more excited when we signed Eriksen and Lamela

I think Hoddle went wrong because he loved (3-5-2 / 5-3-2) and wouldn't move away from it. We also seemed to be scrimping on transfers during the majority of his reign IIRC. This wasn't helped by his choice of players in the transfer market itself tbf

Christian Gross for me. The moment he waved that underground ticket around I knew he was special.

I've been a fan for so long I really should know better, but I always get really excited with any new manager. I start out telling myself to keep my head because heartbreak is likely, but by the time the season kicks off I am convinced we're at the start of something very special.

Even with Sherwood (I had a nickname ready: Sure Would. Like we love him so much for his exciting football and record trophy haul that we 'sure would')

George Graham. A surprising choice maybe. But he was the first manager we appoint during my time as a fan who'd won all the top trophies in England, and on more than one occasion. After the likes of Christian Gross I genuinely thought we might stand a chance of doing the business with him, which is why I swallowed his gooner history.

After that, I'd say Santini, primarily because he came with Arneson and Jol as an all star package.

Was more than happy with Redknapp, but mainly because I saw him as an ideal man for a relegation fight, which we we potentially faced when he came in. I wasn't surely if he could get us into the top four, but, by that stage, we'd recovered our season and I saw no reason to change.

Wasn't remotely convinced by Ramos or AVB, for the same reason I now have reservations over Poch.

Every new manager, every new player is always exciting. I disagree with Sherwood's nickname though. That's one of the lamest thing's I've heard. :D

Harry for me. I was convinced he would keep us up. Didn't think we'd finish 8th though

Harry, thought he was exactly what we needed at the time. I wouldn't say I'm overly excited by Poch however I think he will do a decent job & play good football that suits our squad & lg, plus he will treat the club with respect & won't be an embarrassment with the media, so I'm looking forward to having a gentleman in the hotseat.
Was dreading the thought of AVB at the time, knew he would flop when Chelsea appointed him & knew he'd flop at us, have exact same feeling about Fdb.. not suited to Pl

El Tel. Should have focussed on management only.

Hoddle, before I realised it would take more than a messiah to get that team of players doing anything.

Santitni. WTF happened there!!!

AVB. He really did have soooo much promise.

As you can see, i've never really learned my lesson. I'm bound to be excited by the next one too….
