There is only one manager that tics all the boxes & has no loyalty when it comes to contracts that i can think of that would probably take the job - Redknapp.

I really want the next manager to be De Boer, as he will play expansive football and get the best out of the likes of Eriksen and Lamela who in my opinion have to be played more often. However I really can't see Levy bringing him in and instead I think Sherwood will stay until the summer with Capello coming in after the WC, which I just find heartbreaking.

Yakin would be a massive, possibly ludicrous, risk.
I'm not sure it will that much of a risk really. It might be plain stupid but it's not like we are in a relegation position. De Boer also could be considered a massive risk and you can easily argue that Basel do much better in euro competitions then Ajax. In fact Basel are probably a better team than ajax right now I reckon.

Mind I don't think either of the two should get the job personally.

Leave Sherwood in charge until the summer, by which time Jose will have been sacked by Chelsea and we can get him in.

It's funny that 44% have voted for de Boer when he plays an almost identical style of football to AVB. Unless of course it's only the pro-AVB faction that have voted de Boer?

There is a difference between someone's general philosophy and/or formation being the same, to how it is applied on the pitch.

Personally, I cannot imagine how FDB's teams would be as criminally dull as ours has been at times.

Having said that, I finally have got to the point where I don't really care who the manager is.

Can I envisage the kind of success that causes Levy to keep this next manager for multiple years ? No. not really for a variety of reasons.

No point getting too attached to the next guy. Likelihood is he'll be gone within two years

I might sound very negative and depressing but that's because I feel very negative and depressed ! Football is fucked and until it changes, I can't see how we break the cycle we are in

Benitez for me, knows the premiership, knows how to win trophies and plays attractive football.

Do a bit of research on how he sets up his Ajax teams....

High line, pressing, possession, ball circulation. Accused of being boring because the centrebacks see the ball the most and make the most passes, and they pass sideways more than anyone else.

Those who wanted AVB out are stupid if they want de Boer in.

Frank Rijkaard needs a strong no.2 to be successful and dont think we would give him that
His man Henk Ten Cate(top bloke, have met many times)...This isn't the right choice... Frank has had some issues the last 2 years, doesn't need the press hounding him

Its all well and good saying 'so-and-so' would be a risky appointment, I think we have to accept that where we are at in the food chain we have to take a leap of faith in whoever we appoint. It will be virtually impossible to get someone with a proven track record of winning things at the highest level. Hopefully they can identify a coach who has had success and a track record at getting his methodology across at more than one club, so we can be confident he knows how to build a team in his image and not have another AVB situation where in the end he never, in my opinion, managed to translate the ideas in his head onto the players and onto the pitch.

Van Gaal is a class a asshole.(Have met this plonker a few times as well)
Hed fall out with half the squad. Not just 2 players like AVB.
The press would attack him constantly.
Hed want all his backroom staff and everybody else out the club.
Him and his snake of an agent would only sign the agents players.

would love klopp but imagine we have no chance of landing him. i wanted martinez when harry was sacked but again i fear he would not leave everton for us in what would probably be seen as a sideways move.

i would stick with sherwood for the season and try and land prandelli after the world cup.

Ajax's entire second half against Milan in the CL consisted solely of hopeful lofted long balls into the box too..

That said I have not seen much else of Ajax or FDB lately.. but I like the idea of him for some reason.
