Boulahrouz has been impressive so far. How is that the same player we saw be so shockingly bad for Chelsea?

Saw him mentioned briefly earlier but Philip Lahm is a such a solid fullback, I don't follow the bundesliga at all but everytime I see him playing for Germany he looks pure class.

But even at during this tournament, it's easy to see why he's scored so many at Bayern. In terms of his movement and the runs he's been making, he's done as well as any striker. For some reason his finishing has been dreadful, but we all know Luca Toni is a very good finisher. You can't not be to score over 40 goals in a season. He's just having a nightmare of a time in front of goal at the moment, but that can happen to even the best. The time to start worrying about a striker is when they don't even get into scoring positions - like Sheva since he's been in the Prem.

Yeah, Luca has played well, he's set up his teammates time and time again as well as himself, he just can't seem to find a finish. He really has looked like the best striker in the tournament in terms of build up play etc...and as Joey said you know he can finish. He really to me is the ideal striker. He makes things so much easier for the rest of his team.

Of course he is a great striker without question, just strange that his finishing seems to have deserted him. Only 1 shot on target so far, more than likely he will score against Spain.

Russia happen to be loaded with unsung heroes. They molested Sweden today with freeflowing attacking football.

Konstantin Zyryanov - Central midfielder with a great drive supplemented with skill and vision
Yuri Zhirkov- Attacking left fullback. Ran up and down the whole match showcasing both skill, shooting and crossing ability.
Roman Pavlyuchenko- Big striker, good both aerially and groundwise.
Good display from Mr. Arshavin as well.

Wouldn't mind any of these at Spurs based on their performances so far

My problem with Pavlyuchenko is the amount of chances he wasted! Like John Carew at his very worst, needs about 10 massive chances to score! But he does look very promising.

Arshavin was fantastic, as was Zhirkov.

You can compare Gomez, who's been sensational for Stuttgart but has looked like a rabbit in the headlights here. Maybe the occasion has just got to him.

Despite still being a chelsea player, I think an extra note of credit has to be given to Boulahrouz during this tournament as he had been playing on despite the death of his pre-mature baby daughter.

Hamit Altintop. He reminds me a bit of Seydou Keita. I don't know if he's been injured or not, but he hasn't played that much for Bayern this year. If he's just not been selected, then there must be a reasonable chance he is availabe for transfer and he should go towards the top of our wanted list.

Arshavin and Boruc have been outstanding from the games I've seen - but haven't seen all Poland's games

but Arshavin player of the tournament so far for me - simply sensational (copyright A Hansen :)
