With only Modric at Euro 2008, and England not being there, I have watched a lot of the games checking out players we have been linked with and players that we should be after. So who has impressed you to the extent that you want us to buy them?

Boruc and Akinfeev looked good (even though they both let in goals)

Engelaar looked good for Holland, its a shame he has already agreed a transfer.

Obviously someone like Villa or Frings have done well, but I dont think they are realistic targets for us

Engelaar's going to Schalke I believe.

I though de Jong did well alongside Engelaar. Afellay's a player Ive been a fan of for a while and he looked really lively when he came on.

Engelaar to Schalke, who seem to be doing well at attracting players at the moment.

I also though De Jong looked good and we were heavily linked with him before he moved to Hamburg.

Apart from Villa yesterday, i liked the look of Cazorla when he came on very direct and speedy and the swiss midfielder Illner?. Apart from the ones already mentioned above. I thought the big Russian forward was handy.

I thought that Engelaar looked really good for holland.

And also thought David Silva and Marco Senna for spain had good games.

Might surprise a few but I really liked the look of Gokhan Inler from Switzerland. I kept an eye on him in the Swiss match and ive seen him a few times this season for Udinese and he has been great. He would be a great signing for us as our defensive midfielder, he has good pace, power, athlestism and is good passer. Bingo !!!

Joao Moutinho for Portugal, and David Silva, both in the first set of games looked really good. Dunno how Moutinho got on against the Czechs today tho..

Watching Turkey against Portugal the other night, one Turkish player who caught my eye, and should be obtainable is Colin Kazim-Richards.

The ideal Player for us is the one and only Torsten Fringe or Podolski ( never going to happen). The palyer I do not want is De Jong ( a cross between Atouba and KPB ..).

Turkey's keeper has played very well tonight so far. Made a few good saves in some tough conditions.

I thought Pirlo looked good in the Italy / Holland game and pinged a few nice passes about.

Zambrotta was also excellent, especially considering he was down the left for the most of the game.
