Gibbs, mate, let it go. relax. Nobody's out to get you. You;ve managed a lot of posts. We're all yids here, relax mate. Just let people have an opinion other than yours and then some of the mega posters will respect yours. Thats assuming that you are currying their support?

On the point of your post. Um carrick....would be nice but won;t happen, barry.......two seasons too late.

Peace

It was basically a true fire way to show that the majority of the clique in here can't debate with anyone they have disagreed with in the past.

Erm...what exactly are you trying to say there? Are you trying to suggest that I'm part of some clique on here? I can't recall having responded to any of your posts prior to the 'Modric=Rebrov' thread & even then, it wasn't exactly a savage retort as all I said was "Modric - wait & see" & "I admit our scouts aren't as good as Arsenal's yet". Not exactly insulting, was it?

And people often go to great lengths (like you did your opinion on my argument) to justify/tart up an answer to a simple post. You could have said "I agree" instead of fearing reprisals from the clique.

Firstly, I always go to great length! If not, people would begin to ask questions...:shifty:

Secondly, I wasn't justifying or tarting up a post saying "I agree" as I clearly didn't entirely agree with your opinion. As I said, Carrick would do well for us but I don't think he'll want to come back to us, regardless of what some Man U fans think of him. Barry? Yes, if he'll come to us we should be in like Flynn. However, I had reservations regarding what you posted as I made abundantly clear. If I had agreed unequivocally with your post I would have said so.

The "fearing reprisals from the clique" thing - bollocks! I don't even know who you're referring to really but I have nothing to fear from anyone here as I know that as long as I follow the rules there's fuck all anyone can really do about it.

It is a shame because there are some bright people on here, only the loudest ones are about as clueless as it gets for what is best for the team.

Loudest? CAPS-LOCK aside, this is a fairly volume-neutral medium. I think everyone here wants what's best for the team but categorising those who disagree with you (or even just question you, as I believe that's all I've done) as 'clueless' may go some way to explaining why some people are less than receptive towards your posts.

If you weren't referring to me or my post specifically, fair enough. But if you were, don't try to lump me into some clique or category as I'm simply responding to what you wrote as I see fit.

Playing players out of position has been disastrous for us in the past. No way should be be played anything but left back.
Wasn't the last time and one of the only times he played at left-back against Villa in the "4-4" 125 year match?

Chris getting fired proved he was rubbish.

Also regarding the players you mentioned: People who know about decent leagues will miss your sarcasm. They will probably be nodding in agreement with you right now regarding signing them. Don't mistake your own ignorance/lack of knowledge for mine.

Youtube videos are practically non existent on the players I listed.

But look out for 2 years time where Turan will be 10 times the price he would command now. Yes I didnt have to wait 2 years for Hughton to get fired, just a couple of months but you know...It always comes true. Sorry that a thread we argued on for a while turned out in my favor. That is why you follow me around like a lapdog learning as you whine about the last time I kicked you.

You present opinion as fact... and how is the turkish league any good? We dicked on Besiktas in Turkey last season.

Chris getting fired proved he was rubbish.

But Chris was not fired by Venables, Ardiles, Gross, Francis, Graham, Hoddle, Pleat, Santini or Jol, which would seem to prove that he is anything but rubbish. In fact Chris was never sacked by any Spurs manager; he was sacked by the Board, none of whom I believe have their coaching badges.

The fact that on leaving Spurs he walked straight into a prestigious job at Newcastle, and seems to have improved them immensely, also suggests that yours is a minority opinion.

Disagree. He proved competent at LM with Lee behind him. He is a young player and in my opinion is not a Prem level LB at the moment because his positioning isn't quite there yet.

He has the attributes to make a good Bentley-esq player on the left, but still has the pace to beat a man (Fulham, Middlesbrough goals in particular) and he can come inside and mix it up with Gilberto being able to overlap probably better than Lee could.

I agree in part about players playing out of position, but that's mainly been where we've had a CM playing RW, a CM playing LB OR a CM playing LW...different scenario to a LWB playing LW imo.

Yes, you want the smurfs in midfield. Thank you for clarifying the reason I openly mocked your master plan for fielding a midfield that the Spurs girls under 12s would tower over.

I really don't think it's a problem that they're not tall.

I think we SHOULD buy good players, that will play good together, and will score more goals, and conceed less.
