Who we SHOULD sign...

Coincidentally, I was having a conversation with my Dad over dinner tonight about John Snow interviewing politicians on C4 & how he responds to answers by twisting them into a completely disingenuous counter-question...

Which is exactly what you've done there.

Would Carrick or Barry be awful for our team? No, of course not. We know Carrick wouldn't & its reasonable to suggest that Barry wouldn't either. But, as I think you well know, Kendall did not state this as his opinion at all & therein lies the...erm...lie.

I agree with you (as I did, partially at least, in the Modric thread) that we need some class & experience in the middle of the park & that youngsters are, for the moment, not the answer for the first XI.

My issues with your post are twofold: Firstly, you title the thread 'Who we SHOULD sign' & then mostly fail to answer your own question apart from a distinctly vague (oxymoron alert!...:)) exhortation to sign "A Carrick" or "A Barry" rather than specifying actual players, assuming of course that you didn't mean we should actually sign these players. I mean, if you'd said "lets stick in a bid for Barry, £13m's not bad & he'll do the business..." then fine but you didn't.

Secondly, this post somewhat contradicts your critique on THFC's scouts in 'Modric=Rebrov' by suggesting that rather than scouting out hitherto-unknown talents a la Wenger, we should be concentrating on experienced PL players who require no scouting whatsoever. Like Carrick & Barry, for example.

Berba? I'd love him to stay but I doubt he will. It shouldn't be about keeping a player at all costs as this won't bring the best out of either the player or the team.

'Modric=Malbranque' - as I said in that other thread let's wait & see but personally I class myself as a 'glass-half-full' kinda guy.

Good Post:clap:

To be honest I just posted something I knew everyone would agree with. Blatant obvious things that would be fantastic for the team.

Then waited for the clique to claim i was an idiot and my ideas were preposterous.

I put the ref to Modric/coaching in there to keep it "Gibbs131".

It was basically a true fire way to show that the majority of the clique in here can't debate with anyone they have disagreed with in the past.

And people often go to great lengths (like you did your opinion on my argument) to justify/tart up an answer to a simple post. You could have said "I agree" instead of fearing reprisals from the clique.

The team is screaming out for Carricks return (and Man Utd fans are divided on him) and Barry is available at a price we can afford.

It is a shame because there are some bright people on here, only the loudest ones are about as clueless as it gets for what is best for the team.

Carrick and Barry? WHAT A STUPID IDEA!!!

;p

Good post. I've never been so embarassed as a viewer as when he interviewed the Iranian president.

Together? Yes.

Keep digging Flatters.

He is a Yid
He can play on the left
He will shore up the flank to allow Bale to get forward and is intelligent enough to know when to attack or defend.
He will strengthen set pieces.
He will strengthen the steel of the side.
He is a refs fav (trust me, important)
He gets stuck in and does the dirty work away from home to the Man Utd's of the league.
His fans are heartbroken that he is leaving

LEFT
STRONG
CAPTAIN MATERIAL
GOOD SHOT
CAN ATTACK AND DEFEND
EXPERIENCED

Yeah he would work terrible in the Prem with Carrick who is pretty much an identical player only in another area of the field we need strengthening.

Base everything you see from England MOTD's eh?

haha. Flatters, you fell into my hate trap and you have embarrased yourself.

I could say Cudducini is a great goalkeeper and you would disagree due to our past.

Keep digging Flattapus.

We have a past? I thought you just had a past with everyone. What was ours concerning?

Anyway, I wouldn't want to have Barry on the left. I'd want a winger on the left as well as right with Lennon. In the middle, perhaps Modric playing a sort of Fabregas role, and someone like Gattuso to partner him.

As for your opinion. HILARIOUS!

So:

WingerX Modric OldpastitDMmidget Lennon
Bale XXX XXXX XXXXX

Hahaha!

HAhahahahahaha!

Hahahahahahahahaha

Bale really needs a winger in front of him right> Because Bale is sooooooo defensive minded. Did it occur to you that Bale may be the wing BACK that Ramos will use to make plays from the left?

Bale needs an all rounder in front of him 100% because defense is not Bales strongest suit. Turning defense into INSTANT ATTACK is.

Your midfield would be attack of the short fairies. You could kick a daisy cutter pass over their heads...hahaha.

Bale needs an experienced international LB BEHIND him while he's playing on the left hand side of midfield.

oh, we already have one in Gilbert.

I would go along with that just about, Bale LB or LM would do, not really seeing his defensive side much i would probably go with LM. Cant see berabtov being here next season though, so another set of ????'s need add'd

I think we should sign Bayer's Simon Rolfes and Galatasaray's Arda Turan. I've scouted both extensively on YouTube and know they would be fantastic buys. Unlike Modric, who is shit.

Meanwhile, here's a YouTube clip of Chris Hughton holding a clipboard. This proves he's rubbish.

Chris getting fired proved he was rubbish.

Also regarding the players you mentioned: People who know about decent leagues will miss your sarcasm. They will probably be nodding in agreement with you right now regarding signing them. Don't mistake your own ignorance/lack of knowledge for mine.

Youtube videos are practically non existent on the players I listed.

But look out for 2 years time where Turan will be 10 times the price he would command now. Yes I didnt have to wait 2 years for Hughton to get fired, just a couple of months but you know...It always comes true. Sorry that a thread we argued on for a while turned out in my favor. That is why you follow me around like a lapdog learning as you whine about the last time I kicked you.

Yes, you want the smurfs in midfield. Thank you for clarifying the reason I openly mocked your master plan for fielding a midfield that the Spurs girls under 12s would tower over.

Playing players out of position has been disastrous for us in the past. No way should be be played anything but left back.

Do you realize how many set pieces and corners we would let in with those three in the middle of the park???

Okay guys, since i am always wrong I will go out for the night on the town:

To West palm beach on the coast of Florida to party because making bad judgment calls resulted in me living the Mr Big Potatoes life overseas.

Asta la bye bye bitches!!!!
