If Jermaine Jenas is our best option to captain our club, then fuck me. No way, the man can't string a couple of passes together nevermind take control on the pitch.Woodgate all the way

You have to take the amount of changes to the squad into consideration. It wouldn't be right to give a new signing the vice-captaincy. Jenas, Lennon and King will be the longest first teamers left that.

basicly it will come down to who ever will be starting the majority of games, no point in having a vice captain who hardly plays, especialy when we dont know how many games out captain will play.

Yeah but they going to need to have shown some sort of leadership skills in training too. Would it be possible for Bale to be vice captain?

Too young IMO, and again, we dont know how fit or injury free he will be again this season.

I think Woodgate has alot of respect from other players, and i think Jenas does too, but when i see them both on the pitch, woodgate just looks like he is more of a leader, i and no one really knows what they are really like, but i would say which ever shows enough or more leadership qualityies on and off the pitch will get the nod, i really cant see it going to anyone else at the moment.

Agreed with the player needing to selected for most games which I would think rules out Jenas & Woody due to his injury problems.

How about Hutton? He seems vocal and not a charlie big potatos type.

it will probably be jenas, woodgate is really quite thick off the pitch and is more of a joker. JJ in recent years has become like the tottenham poster boy, he does all the photo shoots and that rubbish, seems to be eloquent enough when he talks and always says the right things, i believe that he is one of the leaders in the dressing room so i would bet it being on him.

Jenas has been with us 3 seasons now and if he sees out his contract he might be here 7 years with the club, i can't think of a player who will be more underrated by the fans who will have been here for so long.

Maybe both Woodgate and Jenas? If they played together they could rotate match by match? My personal preference would be Woodgate, although I have nothing against Jenas at all. I just always believe that a defender makes a better captain. Also, what about Hutton as an outside bet? He's serious, hardworking and although young, he's not that young.

Jamie o'Hara looks a good bet for the future, he looks pretty mean & intimidating, exactly what you need to keep your team mates on their toes at all times - he's the new Roy Keane.

I get that impression too. A couple of seasons under his belt and he'll whip the team into shape on matchdays. That would be uber cool!

The new Roy Keane? thats certainly along way away at the moment. Would not complain at all if he reached that kind of level, I cant see it happening myself but heres hoping.

It's definately too early to even consider selling O'Hara given what he has shown he is already capable of.

I for one think he's got a big future ahead of him.

I hope so, I was impressed with him when he broke into the team, especially away at Arsenal in the league. Hopefully he has lot more to give.
