1. I'm not wholly convinced King will keep the armband... If he gets the fitness all-clear then yes, great, there can be no one else. But, it's not good for the team as it stands IMHO. If Ramos is considering shaking up the captaincy then this is the time to do it.

2. For me Woody is the obvious choice to step in.

3. If we purchase someone like Albelda then he'd be in contention.

4. If Jenas stays with us and consistently ups his game, he could be a future captain for sure.

Agreed with the player needing to selected for most games which I would think rules out Jenas & Woody due to his injury problems.

How about Hutton? He seems vocal and not a charlie big potatos type.

im pretty sure he only missed about 100 minutes of football after we signed him i was also under the impression he had a pretty decent injury record at boro. he admitedly has a history of injury problems but thats not to say he automatically gonna be injurred all the time.

If Keane's off then the captains should be our own Crockett & Tubbs - King & Woodgate.

I hope so, I was impressed with him when he broke into the team, especially away at Arsenal in the league. Hopefully he has lot more to give.

Aye, he's a class act. Even if he isn't the most technically sound player we have at the moment, he certainly has the determination and heart to compete at his best every appearance. Sounds like he gets on well with everyone, too, including Ramos and Poyet. Definitely one for the future, but I couldn't see him going down hill. The best is yet to come.

You're right he has been playing regularly since he joined Boro and if you searched the 'Woody to Spurs' thread from back in the day I was one of those very excited that he was joining us.

I'll probably get shot down for this but I think he's better than King, although both of them of them are right up there on par with Ferdy IMO.

I would but as we're in the middle of a credit crunch i can't afford to waste bullets on fools.

Yeah well you've probably never even seen a gun let alone handled one.

Considering shooting is one of my hobbies (and I'm pretty damn good) I'd feel confident in a fire-fight with you thats for sure.

.22 bullets are still cheap as chips even during the credit crunch not that you would have been able to get one off in playing 'ten paces' with me...

Are there many Americans who don't own a gun?

That's because Brits are generally civil. Well, those who don't own knives...

I think you're mistaking rude for loud...

Anyway back on topic.

Woody is the ducks nuts

Any of Woody/Jenas/Hutton for captain would suit me.

wouldnt get shot down by me. woodys top drawer. if theyre both fit weve got the one of the best pairings in the world for me.

i only posted that cause my mate had previouisly claimed woody to be injury prone which i disputed since i couldnt remember him missing a game.
