I'm assuming that King will continue with the Spurs captaincy, however do to his persistant injury problems will be relying on a vice-captain to lead the team out. If Keane finally goes, added to the sale of Robinson, we would need a new stand-in-skipper. Who are the alternatives, the other day I saw that Jenas lead the team out against Hercules, but i doubt he has the strength in character for the role or is as respected as King.

Woodgate would be another choice but he just joined in January, he has strong leadership skills and reads the game very well.
I doubt Dawson would get many games although he was a pretty good captain at forest, then there's Zokora?

Any suggestions?

IMO It'll be Robbie Keane (Assuming he stays with us) if not, then Woodgate would be my choice.

Jenas had the arm band vs Hercules and when he went off, gave it to Dawson. Jenas has been captain of Newcastel so I reckon he'll be in the mix.

I think i'd like it to be Woodgate, if not him then JJ or Zokora.

I think that Dan stated a while back, that the feeling in the club is that woody would become 3rd captain in front, of at the time, jj and robbo. so it would stand to reason that in the event keano leaves then woody would become vc.
i might look for the quote

JJ has been captain a few times over the last two seaons or so. He captained Newcastle at a young age and I seem to remember hearing someone (possibly BMJ) tipping him to captain Spurs. I'd give the vice-captaincy to JJ, even if Keane is still here next season. The added responsibility could have the same affect on him as it has on Gerrard at Liverpool

Zokora!

What? He had the armband against Getafe. And it's not like that night went seriously wrong.

...ohh, wait!

I assume if jj is good enough to play with the crop of players we are bringing in around him then he will be vc as he has bin around a long time now for a fickle footballer has a good repor with the players and staff and seems to command respect of his colleagues

I've never thought it would be anyone other than Woodgate to be honest. Even trying to come up with an alternative in my head sounds silly.
He's plays in a Central defensive role, he's one of the more senior in age and experience at domestic league and cup (in two differing football cultures) and international football , he was a Ramos signing and he speaks Englsih and Spanish. He'll always start when fit and pound for pund one of the most talented in the squad.

If Woodgate isn't made Vice captain i'd have serious reservationsover the sanity of our managment.

The only problem with Woody is does he have the maturity (in his mindset) to be a captain? He's been a silly boy in his younger days and the word is that he's not the full ticket.

Most people haven't been including Jenas in their starting lineups for next season, preferring to put i an unnamed DM next to Modric in the centre - however, I think that Jenas is still very much a first-teamer. He's long-serving now and will get the vice captaincy I reckon
