I'm sure 90% of us were just like you, predicting great things for us and belittling Liverpool.

I praised Liverpool last season and thought thy were playing better football. I just felt they had a small squad and wouldn't be able to keep results up over a whole season. Have to give them credit. I thought it was a season too soon for them.

I was against so many changes at us but thought AVB would organise us well enough to build on last season despite a big loss in Bale. I also thought Arsenal would struggle more.

Hold my hands up, I got it all wrong.

I can understand why you made those predictions. I didn't have Liverpool in the top 4 either and thought they'd end up 5th or 6th with us being the other. I actually thought United would finish 3rd or 4th, with the other place going to Arsenal. I thought they'd struggle after losing Fergie but didn't think it'd be that bad.

Even if we don't win the title, he has been BY FAR the best and most successful Manager this season when you compare LFC now to his first season. I'd be disappointed if he didn't win Manager of the year.

Sorry the only manager that should win manager of the year is Tony Pullis. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just wrong in my opinion.

Interesting. Pulis has done an outstanding job but do managers usually get MOTY for half a season? Genuine question.

Brendan Rodgers, Martinez, Steve Bruce and Pulis are the top candidates imo.

Don't like Rodgers but he and Martinez are the outstanding candidates IMO.

Pulis has done very well but he;s only had half a season hasn't he?

Pulis has had nearly 3/4 of the season, Holloway was sacked after 11 games IIRC.

Still think Rodgers will get the award, there's no doubt he deserves recognition.

Rodgers is in his second season (and you, yourself, have made a fair bit about how important it is that Liverpool kept faith with him - and ignoring the challenge to that mythos that the alleged move for de Boer makes) and Martinez is in his first season. You kept your best player and added to him, a fair body of footballing folk would have considered that Fellaini was Everton's best player and they lost him last Summer. Both teams have games that could go either way. So, given that Everton will, at least temporarily, replace Arse*al in the top four, and bearing the two facts outlined above in mind, how close do you think Everton need to finish to Liverpool for you to accept that Martinez would be a worthy winner of Manager of the Season?

Obviously, if Liverpool continue their winning run and win the league I would understand you dismissing all other considerations.

I want city to win. When a bank rolled team win the prem it means nothing to me.

If Liverpool won it through effort that would really be shit.
What annoys me is that could have been us. I don't think they will win but we were perfectly primed to replace a team dropping out of the top four for several seasons. We blew it.

hopefully city, no one really cares about them anyway.

That's why I want them to win it...because they've bought it but they use to be shit.

No one will blink two eye lids if they win it...will be yesterdays news.

But if Liverpool win it....you'll have people out wanking in the streets for weeks.

You'll have the two Jamie's dry humping on Sky.

It will be totally unbearable.

This has to be the most annoying song in football! I think it's the Sven-Göran Eriksson song with the lyrics changed?

LIVERPOOL fans are on the brink of regaining their status as the most annoying in England.

Once the most feared topic of conversation in Europe, Liverpool have had their sense of smugness eroded for the last 24 years.

But with the team six games from league victory, Steven Gerrard said: “We have the best fans in the world for self-mythologising, so it will be great to give them something to buttonhole complete strangers about.

“If we lift the trophy, for years to come the players’ names will be constantly on the lips of irritating people who have trapped others in the corners of pubs.”

Two teams stand between Liverpool’s fans being unable to just shut up for five minutes. Favourites are Manchester City, whose own supporters are clinging to a sense of superiority over people making the arbitrary decision to support Manchester United instead.

Chelsea also want to derail Liverpool’s attempt at being beyond the pale, and feel that with John Terry and Jose Mourinho

I prefer City and even Chelsea to win in it. I know too much Liverpool fans here in Germany who wouldn't stop to wank in my face...

If we finally won the league this year, which I don't think we will btw, it would mean we were the best team in the country over 38 games. That would be a HELL of an accomplishment for a squad & Manager who only came 7th last season. It would be one of the biggest surprises in a long time.

When you add to the fact Liverpool have not won it since 1990 and this has always been the be all and end all for LFC fans due to successful history, do you not feel that we'd be a little justified to be "wanking in the streets for weeks"?

Would you lot not react similar if you one day were to win the league? Surely you winning the league would be an even bigger deal than us winning it due to the last time you won it? Would you not be going mad celebrating, or "wanking in the streets"?

The non-partisan truth and reality is that it would be a HUGE deal for any fans to win the league and Liverpool fans would celebrate just the same way as the Utd fans or City fans or Arsenal fans did, and even if there was some over-exuberance by some, that would only be because of the huge baron spell since 1990.

I feel since we've finally turned things around this season, and are no longer the laughing stock we were the last 3 seasons, and there's not much to write in all the "Lets All Laugh at Liverpool" threads across the forums all over the country, people aren't happy about this or maybe a bit bitter and just finding anyway to criticize the club and fans and even having little digs about Hillsboro for Gods sake.

People let their hatred for all things Liverpool cloud their thinking. Somehow, I doubt I'd be reading all this rubbish if we were still battling for 7th place like we have the last 3 seasons and looking as shite as we have been since 2010.

tbh mate if Liverpool win the league then fair play to you. There may be some jealousy involved but I think the main problem is the pro Liverpool bias in the media. It really is quite sickening and I can't begin to imagine what it will be like if you do it. They'll probably have a street party and a fucking 20 page commemorative pull out in all the tabloids.
