We're easy to hate:

Handsomest fans.
Most highly educated fans.(fighting cock as an outlier to this rule)
Wealthiest fans.
Coolest name.
Classiest kit colours.
Best chicken shop.
World class tragic heroes.
Got a free world class striker with a Hollywood villain's name.
New stadium will be the most Duravit looking venue in the league.
Turned Bambi on ice Erik Lamela into the Predator.

Any more for any more? (I only have supporting evidence for 90% of these reasons)

In a long thread on Twitter, a Chelsea fan told me 'we' HATE Tottenham and that's why they held the ball and ran down the clock yesterday. I bet he doesn't even know why. Probably because he thinks he's supposed to. Obviously there's more to it than just being in the same city.

I don't get the perception that some have of 'Spurs fans'. Everyone seems to have bad words about us. Maybe the doughnuts who call in on TalkSport give the rest of us a bad name? Otherwise I'm at a loss.

I think Chelsea hate us because we call them what they are - a plastic club with plastic fans. They know they'd be well behind us on all counts without financial doping.

I think were hated, but not as much as its being made out. I fully believe we were a challenge to Leicester's league win and that was going against the status quo.

Outside London, people only hate us because of our fans. To be fair, the majority of SC are decent knowledgable fans so the younger fans who are members on here may find it weird that we're hated. Our fans' reputation amongst others, for whatever reasons, is that we're arrogant & yobbish who believe Spurs have a right to a title even though we've won fuck all for years. This is what I genuinely believe having browsed various forums and listened to mates or people down the pub for the last 25 years or so. That's their general perception of us, rightly or wrongly.

Fact is though, up until West Brom, we were getting plaudits from literally everyone so supporters generally do appreciate that we're a good football team even though they hate us, the fans. It's completely different to why people hated teams like 70's Leeds (dirty) or Wimbledon (dirty and long ball) Graham's Arsenal (boring) etc. I think other fans appreciate our style of play, our manager and respect how good our players are, especially the English core. That might've changed this morning

We have no more bad eggs than any other set of supporters. Let the haters hate. It means we're competing.

scum is obvious
Chelsea is from when they were crap and we were actually quite good yet they always seem to beat us, similar to the stage west ham went through when it was pretty much all that mattered in there season, also they havent got a natural derby, west ham similar to chelsea
obviously both sides are a lot better now but the rivalry still there
its not immune to us, am sure they hate each other as well

I couldn't give a fuck, bring it on. When this lot really fulfil their potential then we'll be hated even more.

We aren't hated anymore than any other team that was potentially going to ruin to fairytale.

When other fans, clubs, pundits are hating us, it means one thing. We've arrived and they don't like it...they can see how good we are and it irks them.

Long may this hate continue..it'll build the team spirit even more.

From being married to a Chelsea man I believe the hatred started in the 60's when we were mostly the better team and we beat them in the FA cup in 1967.
Arse is obvious and Wham just have an inferiority complex

As most have said with the scum its self explanatory.

With West Ham and Chelsea it dates back to the 70s when we started to chant Yid Army to show solidarity with our own fans. Both Chelsea and West Ham fanbases had vocal minorites of BNP support and they pinpointed spurs as the 'jewish' club, hence the hissing you can still hear to this day in the Matthew Harding stand. Although I don't think there's an anti-semetic undercurrent any more the vitriol remains.

Because we have class and believe in the beauty of the game and they way it should really be played.

Even though we have won nothing for years, most of the time everyone raises their game against us...

I'm not sure why we're hated but when surrounded by fans of other teams I do at times feel like a Jew at the Labour Party conference.

Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd etc realise we're a threat to the positions at the top of the league they think they have a divine right to. Teams below, West Ham, Everton, Liverpool etc are jealous of where we're going and how we're doing it.
In a nutshell.

This is what it's gonna be like if we continue to progress as we are. Have to get used to it.

This season, the hatred is exarcebated because we had the audacity to challenge and threaten the ultimate sporting fairytale that everyone, far and wide, so desperately wants to see. Everyone's got their Happily Ever After.
