Coming home from WHL today I was amazed at some of the comments I was hearing.

"We were abysmal", "awful", "shocking", "boring" "keane, keane, keane"
"Redknapp ain't got a clue"

The radio was a joke. Who are these people that phone in ? Why do they clame to be Spurs fans ?

Robbie Keane this and Robbie Keane that. Do you not remember our forward line in Jan 2009 (before Defoe re-signed)

Its embarrasing being a Spurs fan sometimes when these people cram the airways to ridicule our side for being 'ordinary' and Keane being useless etc.

Did we not have 16, yes 16 shots on target and 7 off target ? Did we not have 13 corners to Hulls 1 ?

Now did I go to to the same game as these people ? Is Harry Redknapp not building the most fantastic to watch team I have seen since Pleats '87 team ?

We are building a wonderful team. We have pace, power and now 6 games without conceeding a goal.

Redknapp is the best manager we have had for years and today we played expansive open football and had a multitude of chances.

Today was the 1st game of 5 in 15 days. He has to use the squad. Keane and Defoe are good enough to beat Hull but Harry didn't account for Myhill playing the game of his life

He has to rotate the strikers. He can play against Liverpool with either Keane or Defoe with Crouch but needed to protect Crouch today as he is our fulcrum away from home and everything goes through him.

One Hull fan on 606 claimes that Hull were the better team and should have won today ? What do these people do all day ? Smoke crack ?

Any fan on here that thinks Harry is a mug or Keane is a c*** then feel free to air your views but i'm telling you, you have short memories.......

Lets catch up on Thursday when Harry is being lorded as a genius as Keane and Crouch smash their way through Liverpool

There is an excess of pessimism around the Lane after games like this. In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if thats the mindset of the average football fan. Unless its a 4-0 win each week then someone has been crap. No one is ever afforded an off day (unless their name fits easily into a chant)

Its all to do with pressure, and the short term thinking that is pushed by the media.

We should have won. Most players didnt do their best. But its another point gained, and if we go to Anfield and win then I think we have won 5, drawn 2, lost 0

Am i missing someone? people get annoyed because we are one of the most expensive teams to see in the country and most people today would have spent at least £50 to go and see us fail to score against the 2nd worst defence in the league. A team that recently got destroyed 4-1 away from home to the mighty Wigan.

Im sorry but i dont agree with booing the players all the time...but they deserved a little bit of feedback today.

they should get used to it. I have. It makes me feel a bit of pride to see teams constantly come to white heart lane with no other objective but get a point playing 10 behind the ball. Get over it its what they do to top clubs and if that means we are considered a top club I would gladly watch teams like stoke and Hull all season. The issue is we need to find a new tactic on how to break these teams down. Maybe we should but someone like Modric in the centre to add a different dimension. I know it makes us lightweight in the middle but if teams come to defend it could work. TBH they should be expecting it against a team like Hull.

But do you know what is the worst thing about these phone calls..that point took us to 4th without any guys behind us with a game in hand who have a realistic chance of overtaking us after playing those games in hand. We end the week in a stronger position then it started, their are issues which need to be resolved next time someone sits deep and we can't keep saying the goal will come, the goal will come. But for now it wont hurt to smile!

Well its the nature of the game . Players arrive...they shine...they get old. Inevitably some remain longer than is advisable . First a few fans will notice ,then a few more . These fans will present their arguments on forums .

It may look like we always turn on our own players/managers ,but its football and theres one thing we will never turn on....and thats the club . Inevitably we want the best for the club ..

Abso-f**king-lutely. I am as gutted as anyone about failing to win today, but we are at the stage now where Aston Villa, at home, try to park the bus against us. If all we need is to tweak the line-up to find a way through then we're in a pretty fantastic place.

Right now we have a team that can go away to thugs like Blackburn, battle and win. We can play against expansive but limited teams like Wigan and tear them a new arsehole. All we need to learn is how to play against the big boys and how to break down bus-parkers. Lennon would help with the latter, along with trying Modric in the middle and/or being prepared to try GDS or something slightly different.

Some elements of the club's home support is starting to get embarrassing now, and will only get worse if the team continue to improve. Considering the prospect of a nice new batch meat heads joining the 'whine, boo and grunt' ranks when we expand the ground doesn't sit too well with me either.

yeah but thankfully, although they can be very vocal they are the minority. A lot of the new fans will be fans who have been waiting for a season ticket for years. Some of these may well be able to reinvigorate the attmosphere at white heart lane. Which is not actually half bad when you compare it to other stadiums in the country

Yeah, but the fact is that at the start of the season most of these same fans would have been in agreement that the height of our ambitions for this season should be to finish 4th (and maybies win a cup). it is therefore very pertinent to point-out that we are actually the present incumbants in 4th place:grin:

And, in case anyone has just missed it: Villa 0 - Wet Spam 0
Check-out all of the results of all of the teams around us (and include United in that, and Chelsea's less than inspiring away performances), and then consider again if one slightly disappointing result against a team who were determined to hold what they had - from kick-off - is so bad.

They probably didn't go to Wigan with their highest ambition being 0-0...

If just one of those chances had gone in, our fans perception of the game would have been totally different. I think in general people need to watch more football games not involving Spurs. I think our performance yesterday was very favourable compared to Liverpool's, Villa's and Man City's, who are our direct rivals for 4th spot.

Got to agree,it was embrassing to hear them. But can understand what there saying.

Robbie Keane this and Robbie Keane that. Do you not remember our forward line in Jan 2009 (before Defoe re-signed)

I remember C Allen in 87,i wouldnt want him up front either,Keane looks a shadow of the player he wasthe last decent game,he played was for Ireland against France.

Now did I go to to the same game as these people ? Is Harry Redknapp not building the most fantastic to watch team I have seen since Pleats '87 team ?

I dont think ,were fanastic,simply efficient.No Lennon and Modric=Villa

We are building a wonderful team. We have pace, power and now 6 games without conceeding a goal.

No the only genuine pace ,we have is Lennon
Havent scored against Hull,Stoke and Wolves

We had no width and yet again couldnt deal with two banks of four

Didn`t the Stoke keeper have the best game of his life.

Where is Pav,in this?

Then you will turn off, your PS3

Fickle - I can't stand it

Fans pay lots of money to watch spurs,we should see off, Hull,Stoke and Wolves at home, these are games that will cost us a CL place.
That why people are moaning.

Agree Joey, was the Villa game any different- they were worse than we were.

Yesterday was the one point that I considered telling someone to shut the fuck up. Until someone hurls racist insults, I believe in freedom of speech but there was a guy yesterday who was hurling either generic abuse for football players not living in the real world or specific abuse at Corluka. He also said 'why do I pay my money for this shite'. Well yes, don't come back. He also had a whiny Nortern Ireland accent that made things worse.

I am pretty sure he isn't a season ticket holder, thank fucking God. I was about to tell him to support not abuse our players but then he shut up. I hope I would have had support from other guys around me who were getting pissed off. I just don't see the point in hurling abuse at the team or specific players, especially Corluka who is a very good player. I think it just reveals something about the person rather than the team.

Spot on mate. There are 4 clubs rivaling for the 4th spot and comparing this weekends matches I'd we are the only club that can go out with a raised head. Hull fought like true lions yesterday but still they created nothing. We have to get used to teams parking all players behind the ball hardly attacking at all. I watched the game with my brother and mind saying to him that this will be a game exactly like Stoke and Wolves. I was right about that except for one thing. We got 1 point this time compared to 0 before.

Lets not forget that the Hull keeper played the best game of his life. Prolly the best game he will ever play.

We got another clean sheet and it was another game of total domination. This is a fairly new situation for us and we need to just keep working and get the experience the top boys have in getting those 3 points.

Just a sidenote about Liverpool. Seeing them play yesterday actually made me feel sorry for them. Its some of the worst football I have seen for a very long time. Reminded me of us in the mid 90ties heh
