Take a Zanex people. We may not finish above Arsenal, but we will finish above Chelsea. They are going to drop points, they have an interim manager who wants to win a trophy. 4th is not essential for him!
They have a much stronger mentality than us.

Points a point from a losing position but ultimately two points dropped. Disappointing.

Hope Dembele is ok. Need Holtby to start over Parker. Parker offers nothing. Can't believe he lasted till the 73rd.

Good point. I think he was the reason we were toilet the second half. No one to control the ball, and take one of their MF's out the equation. 2nd half, wigan let us have the ball, whilst we casually stroked the ball around.

I think if Arsenal and Chelsea both win tomorrow then it really is an uphill struggle, no point trying to predict possible outcomesfor matches, who would have thought we would win at city and draw with wigan! Lets hope chelsea have a european hangover against swansea

Would have taken 4 points from City and Wigan before the City game.

Doubt if I would have taken it after the City game though!

These are the games we have to win really. I thought we blew it against Fulham but the side have been showing a little bit of unexpected character at times to keep up with the chase.

Still in with a chance but will be very surprised if we manage to do it.

Today and Fulham means we keep pushing back our need to get results. 10 points from our last four? Possible but fairly unlikely.

disgusted.

The most sickening aspect of all is you know had it been Arsenal or Chelsea in that situation they would have absolutely battered the Wigan goal from the moment they went behind. We barely mustered an effort until the 90th minute.

I can understand that results cant always go your way. But to be so half hearted in chasing a vital game leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

You are suerly joking......aren't you?

We dominated the first half. Should have scored atleast one more goal.

We almost lost it at the end, so yes at FT, one point was so much better then nothing. Wigan was so dam close to getting the killer goal and by a mirical we equalised.

2 points dropped, but it could have been 3.

If they win then they are out of our reach I think.

I thought Chelsea were our best bet anyway and today has proved that.

It's starting to look like we're going to have to win at Chelsea.

The point means that if Arsenal draw, we'd go ahead of them by winning our game in hand... if we'd lost then a draw would be good for them. They're a point ahead of us with the same number of games played, so if they win our game in hand wouldn't let us catch them :(

Think the balance of the team was wrong from the off, would of started Holtby with Dembele, Naughton should be nowhere near our starting 11, there is no tactical advantage to be had playing him so why he started is strange, we don't even need to rotate between games, we need top 4 and we play a player not capable of top 4, now is not the time to give him a chance or be nice and give him game time, we still love you, you sexy ginger bastard but you need to toughen up.. Like most, I would have taken 4 points from today's game and last weeks game against city, just typical spurs that we do it the wrong way round.

Really think AVB deserves a large part of the blame for today. As much as his substitutions last week earned us 3 points, his selections against both Fulham and now Wigan have cost us points.

we were WAY too slow today. Naughton, Huddelstone, Parker, Dawson.. they all are too slow. 4/10 slow pitch players is really bad.

The reason why it appears frustrating watching Hudd Daws and Vertoghen stroke it about in defence and look for long raking balls to the flanks is because of the lack of options up front. They clearly set up the team to give us room on the flanks and jam the middle of the pitch with their players restricting inward runs.

The only way to counter that is to have a challenge to their defense in terms of physical presence or movement. Dempsey puts in the effort Ill grant him that. Defoe unfortunately is a very very poor all around striker. He can strike the ball given a bit of space but that apart he offers almost nothing. What they both are NOT are top 4 strikers. That is why although people get frustrated with Ade - what he offers is a physical presence and movement when attacking. Defoe is good for a team on the break or when partnered with a big man - what he needs is space - he is not a clever player.

Disappointing result

WHY PLAY PARKER and huddlestone ?? take out Parker and put in LEwis insted he does the same amout of work but he know how to pass a ball. I am so angry right now. Dempsey should be long gone by next season. Put in adebayor with Defoe, that was a great pair last year but nonono

What this point gives us is two extra difficult games for gunners against qpr and Wigan.

Yes, that was the master plan all along. Draw to Wigan so that they beat Arsenal. AVB you genius, a cunning genius. You're as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University. :sneaky:
