exactly. What was the point of playing Naughton and then bringing Ekotto on?

Also, where the F was Ade. If he had a hissy fit because Defoe was chosen, then Ade, please Fuck off. We dont want you anywhere near the club. You have been useless all season

Ade has a knee injury.

I think we got it slightly wrong with the first 11. It should have been BAE not Naughton.
Help me understand what Holtby bring to the side.
Parker was Parker...
Dawson showed his weakness...
We lacked penetration and Siggy should have been on IMO

Have to say i agree about Holtby barring his first couple of sub appearances i have yet to see anything from him that makes me understand the hype surrounding him.

Just got back from the game, very disappointed with the performance today. We deserved fuck all and created fuck all. Starting Naughton over Benny just resulted in a waste of a substitution, we could have brought Sig or Carroll on for Dempsey then. We looked shaky all game and judging by what I saw today it's looking like 5th. City last week showed what we're capable of so we musn't give up. Win at Chavski and it could all change but United must do the business now.

Is it true Defoe made 9 passes all game with 3 being from kick off?

Probably, I keep saying this but Defoe is best when coming on as an impact sub, so he can run at tired legs. When he starts games it is like playing with 10 men.

Come on guys can't you see what's happening?

The footballing gods are aligning perfectly for us to win at the Bridge, give AVB his redemption and be the reason why Chelsea won't be in the UCL next year.

As for finishing above Arsenal, I think we are saving that for next year

Dawson is not patient enough when we are knocking the ball about at the back, I know he is trying to make things happen with those long balls of his but if he just waited until we found an opening we wouldn't be constantly giving the ball to the opponents and having to defend so much.

We lack quality movement, in fact, we lack any movement what-so-ever. The amount of time this season that I have watched Verts bring the ball out of defence to see no one moving and stretch his arms out, palms up, questioning, pleading even for someone to make a move to come and get the ball is pissing me off. A lot of our players stand around like statues waiting for the ball to land on their big toe before they want to do anything. Lots of ball watching too.

The first goal had lots of little errors. No one on the posts, Walker lost Boyce when he ran up for the header, Verts let Boyce beat him too easily in the air, starting from a standing position to jump is always bad, needs just a couple of steps to jump in to the ball so he can attack it. The marking all round was very loose.

Naughton wasn't tight enough for the second goal. If he was tighter then I don't think McManaman or whoever it was would have scored.

Defoe was isolated but even when the ball came to him he didn't make much of a challenge for it. If the balls in the air he just stands there and lets the defender out-jump him, if he would just even try to put the defender off that would be something. Also, Dempsey goes down WAY to easily, the amount of times he drops to the floor then turns around to the ref with his arms spread wide and a gormless look on his face winds me up. Just fucking fight for the ball instead of looking for free-kicks all the fucking time.

We had no real width until late in the second half.

Our central midfield has to all sit down together and discuss who exactly does what as they are getting in each others way and no one is taking control. They are all doing different things at different times during the game. Parker will be a DCM, then he will be box-to-box, next he is ACM. Dembele looks lost sometimes, not sure of exactly what he should be doing, filling in for Parker a lot of the time I think. But when he is not filling in for Parker, he is doing the same as him!! Doing lots of different midfield jobs at different times, he is not being an ACM or a DCM just flitting between the two and as a consequence is having to do lots of extra running which is tiring him out, he looks exhausted a lot of the time. AVB needs to tell them in no uncertain terms what each of their jobs are and to make them stick to them. The exception to this would be THudd as he did exactly what he was supposed to. The other two however...

The hype that is mostly being perpetuated by us fans, you mean?

Young player, moved to a new country, first season in a new team in the Premier League (and came in half-way through). I think he'll be a lot better next season.

They have Newcastle away on the last day, both teams will have something to play for and both will be desperate.

Will not make a blind bit of difference..QPR will be relegated and WIGAN will roll over. We needed those 3 points today...end off.

What makes you so sure Wigan will roll over against Arsenal? They're playing their traditional end-of-season good football, they may still need the points and they also beat Arsenal at the Emirates in the run-in last year.
