Zaha would effectively replace all of GKN, Janssen, and Llorente. It seems that Poch has come to believe that our Kane alternatives need to be able to play out wide or else they'll never get the playing time needed to establish rhythm and confidence. We have one player like that already in Son and Poch obviously wants to add another in either Martial or Zaha.
Spot on logic ??

We need someone who, when the opposition are sitting deep, has greatcclose control, great dribbling and an eye for a pass.

I feel he’s best when the game is stretched and I think we’re already OK in that department.

Good player though. I scoffed when we were in for him two years back and I was completely wrong. Shame we didn’t get him then.

Now he feels a little pricey

I'd be amazed if we were back in for Zaha.
Shame. For an aggressive attacking wide player he would be my top choice. No more passive players - even wingers.

What they say publicly is one thing, see Breezer/Herc info for reality..45m

It's a weird one though, surely making a bold stance like Villa and Palace have on Grealish (£30m) and Palace (£70m) only angers their fans if they are indeed willing to sell for considerably less. Makes me wonder if it's all a bit wishful thinking on Levy's part that these clubs will buckle.

Like many, my preference would be Martial. I personally think he fits better as a rotation option for Kane up front but can still be equally effective alongside Kane either on the LW or second striker.

That said, Zaha has proved beyond any doubt, that he is a top player in this league. His game has significantly improved since he returned to Palace and I can't remember too many players that have given us as much trouble as he has in previous seasons. It may not have led to his team winning against us but that's mainly because we're better than Palace overall and our quality came through in the end. I certainly prefer playing them when he isn't there.

He was always skilful and loved a trick but I think he's now executing his take-ons far better than he used to and he's so much stronger than before. He's clearly bulked up and is able to use his pace, skill and strength together to beat his man.

To me he is exactly the kind of player we have loved at Spurs down the years. He gets bums off seats and would be a new school version of Ginola in this team. Clearly Ginola was more silky and stylish in his play compared to Zaha's pace and power but both can produce brilliance and frustrate in the same game. All I know is that I adored DG and feel that Wilf could have a similar cult status for us if he is to move here so I certainly wouldn't be against it.

See what happens I guess.

No one? When Tottenham played Palace with Zaha in the lineup, he managed abysmal passing and a total of two shots.
Neither of which came close to the target.
I actually thought it was a good idea to sign Zaha 2 years ago. But we are a different club now. A better club. We should take that seriously.

You can't simply use one game to make a judgement . On that basis we made Madrid look shit at Wembley but does not mean we would not be interested in some of their starting 11 from that night!

Guys, follow the dialogue. I'm not "judging him on one game", I thought the comment that nobody wants to play when he is playing was odd, given that our own team, as an example, pocketed him like pocket change. That's all.

Agree, I also thought this ship had sailed as soon as he signed the last contract for supposedly over 100k a week.
