Yeah, sorry. No fee has been agreed. A club wouldnt risk starting a player where a fee was agreed. Way too much at stake for that.

I think it might be a case where we've verbally agreed a fee, or something along those lines, and are yet to submit an official written offer...

Could be wrong, just guessing - can't put my finger on why, and maybe I'm just being overly skeptical, but something about this deal doesn't feel like it's actually happening yet, if that makes sense?

I don't mind him playing, he needs match fitness.

We're in America atm anyway so he wouldn't join up with the squad until they're back.

What worries me is that if it's that informal then important fine details have not been discussed like payment structures etc. Reckon we are some way off him arriving at Hotspur Way.

Big difference between Chelsea's £60m over 3 years and our £40m over 5 years with £20m in bonus' if we win the treble 3 seasons running ;)

Until a player and club has agreed on all fronts, he will still normally play for his club. Both clubs have been given verbal permission. Now his agents will negotiate on his behalf, and he will be informed. Normally it is to go talk to the potential club, and do meds.

Not having a go at you but I disagree. If a fee was agreed in any transfer, a player will not play. It just wouldnt be a smart move for any side. Too much can happen. Why risk an injury and lose out on the money and possibly create bad blood if a player has to stay then because of it. There is no sense in that.

I understand you’re only reporting what you heard on Zaha but i just cant see Palace risking it if in fact a fee was agreed.

Well Palace, as far as they are concerned. It is not far enough up the road transfer-wise, to let him sit out this friendly also. Did he play the last friendly?

I dont know if he did or didnt. But if he didnt, i dont see how that would effect this friendly unless a fee had been agreed a while and the goal posts were moved recently which would be a classic Spurs transfer saga, to be fair.

Just because the fee is agreed doesn’t mean the transfer is done. I’m sure we’d agreed a fee for Willian before he was hijacked.

Recent ITK has said transfers will go to final day, as usual, so it does us a favour if he plays and gets match fit.
I doubt it would worry us too much if he picked up a short term injury, if it turned out to be long term we don’t have to go through with the transfer up to a point anyway.

My view is that palace and Zaha wouldn’t risk a huge transfer IF things had been agreed by playing a meaningless friendly.

Also don’t believe things like this would gehave agreed without one leak into the media.

Considering palace supposedly need to sell him to buy players what is the point of playing him if he’s moving and risking injury.

My thoughts too. Whether discussions are ongoing or taking place is another matter but if a transfer between the two clubs has actually been agreed, surely Palace wouldn't risk the it and even more so Zaha wouldn't be wanting to play himself at all. I'd have thought that he would be spending this time to discuss terms with any of the teams with a bid accepted and not playing a meaningless friendly where he could risk an injury.

Too much over analysing, and over thinking going on. I am waiting for the artful dodger; Roy Hodgson to come with his flaff.

It is as it is, and was bleated. Obviously everything is not complete on all fronts. 4 parties involved, and ALL have to agree. So until such time he will play for Palace!

if this goes to the final day, then what about if chelsea hijack the deal? or palace decide not to sell because of no replacement and zaha agree to sign contract extension? so we come up empty and no time to make another deal?

Why do you bother reading the ITK if you don’t believe it ?
