If they don’t play him in friendlies, which tend to be as physical as a child’s ball pit, then they might as well not train him either as pre season training is far more intense and likely to cause injury than a kick about with players who are under instruction not to do anything silly. It is entirely possible that @Hercules info is correct and Zaha would still play, anyone saying otherwise is just looking for reasons to be negative.
Except we have more of a pea-shooter.Man with shotgun can catch many rabbits.
Herc said he has not even spoken officially with us yet so transfer has some way to go!Unless Zaha wants to stay at palace he wouldn’t of played that game if a fee has been agreed. Why would palace play him in a preparation game for the upcoming season if they know he’s not going to be with them? Makes no sense to me
I’m not saying a deal is anywhere near done but i would of thought if clubs have agreed a fee the next step is to start negotiating contracts with the player. So i highly doubt he would be playing in a pre season friendly if he has permission to speak to us/Chelsea.Herc said he has not even spoken officially with us yet so transfer has some way to go!

Yea it’s got to be a matter of time before media get this!No papers are saying we are even in for him. Surely they’d of got wind of it? Agents are hardly likely to keep it quiet if we are in for him.

The key I suspect to Hercs post is this bit “spoken officially with us yet”Herc said he has not even spoken officially with us yet so transfer has some way to go!
Raumdeuter?Zaha is playing as a number 10 in what football manager would describe as a "free role"
If a fee has been agreed with Palace, I can't see how it would make any sense for Zaha to play in a friendly. If the clubs were negotiating, yes, it would send a message to the interested party that they weren't going to be pushed around but not if the player was already free to negotiate with the club that had agreed a fee.
Announcement expected in the next 5 minutes...Yeah this deal is about as far away as my 1st nappy
Any news?Announcement expected in the next 5 minutes...
