Just need someone to get them all the ball.
Just need someone to get them all the ball.
The nearer we get to the start of the season /close of the window, the less likely that a club will want to do business. Now is the time to get deals done I would have thought. It's easy to say. What if Kovacic then hands in a transfer request next week and we don't have the £50m up front RM want because we've gone in and paid what Palace want. I'd say central midfield is far more important than another attacking midfielder. I'll trust the club whatever they decide to do.
Firstly, in today's crazy market 70 million isn't way over the top for someone of Zaha's ability. If that price is accurate.
Secondly, this is a player I'd be very confident in - in terms of adding to our attacking strength, so much upside in terms of his experience in this league and his unique skillset. Would be an extremely exciting signing when you couple the above with Poch's record for improving players.
Thirdly, we're strongly led to believe that Poch's has wanted this player for sometime. To push that little bit extra, within reason of course, to get this player in surely gives Poch confidence/reassurance that he's being rewarded/backed and that can only help relations right across the board.
Is 70 million really that bad? Not for me. Hope we bring him in.
Not sure about that, i would think we would have been planning a ' net gain' from the in/out transactionsIf we keep Toby, then we have saved ourselves cash there, one less player to buy, more on the player we want.
He’s a danger man.. giving him the ball will automatically create more space for others as most teams double up against him.A question for thos who have seen a lt of Zaha. Do you think Zaha is a pleyer who needs to be the star of a team or can he fit into a top team of internationals and make his mark?

You've kinda just made me realise that Zaha would in all likelihood be the better fit for spurs than Martial although I suspect Martial will end up the more complete player.
Zaha went up a level last season. He has become unplayable on his day. He’s not a 20 goal a season CF, but he is a game changer. He can give us something we don’t have and can make a major impact from the bench too. We’d be better with him whether he starts or is an impact sub.

I rate Zaha but I'm a bit concerned how he'd cope with defence duties / Pochettinos high pressing tactics. I have the same concern regarding Martial to be fair.
I'm confident Pochettino knows what he wants though. He's shown time and time again that mentality is his holy grail.
And he’s rapid tooNo issue with that. Last season when I watched him against us in our first meeting he was pressing hard and tracking back, he was working really hard for Palace. He is not lazy.
