No issue with that. Last season when I watched him against us in our first meeting he was pressing hard and tracking back, he was working really hard for Palace. He is not lazy.

This. He used to have to put in a hell of a shift under Pardew too, where he and Townsend were usually pushed back so deep they were basically wing backs in a counter attacking formation. No work rate concerns for me.

Not sure about that, i would think we would have been planning a ' net gain' from the in/out transactions[/QUOTE
Don't understand the disagree ratings. Surely we would have been hoping to get in excess of £50 million for Toby and replace him for less than that. That was all I was saying ?

I’d love us to sign Zaha, but I’m not sure about playing as a CF if necessary. Palace only played him there because they had no fit strikers, and we have loftier ambitions than Palace.

Exactly, it's a damn sight easier to shut him down for Palace cos opponents don't really have anyone else to worry about other than Wilf. If teams doubled up on him for Spurs then it would simply free up space for Eriksen, Alli, Kane etc

Agreed 100%. I think Zaha has all the attributes to be our version of Mane (on his day, maybe even better). Both real live wires who frustrate at times with final ball/shot/decision, but overall add a lot to the team through pace, trickery, and fear-factor in defenders. I think his pace could be very useful with the press as well.

I think what Poch has realized is that Kane is one in a million, and trying to sign his backup is a fool's errand. We have to change our entire style of attack if Kane is out. A pacey attacking trio of Son, Zaha, and Moura would allow us to sit and counter if we can't play the way we want.

Mane's end product is about an order of magnitude better than Zaha (currently).
