knee - jerk in the extreme.

doesnt last season great achievment count for nothing?
does one bad night on a shit plastic pitch mean we abandon all we have built, do we ditch dawson who would die for this club, and replace him with someone like eck cant say it, G A LL AS.. THAT STINKS.
we have been called fickle by others in the past..
never has it been proven right ,by the reaction of our fans to one bad night, and to replace our boys, who love our club ..with a turd like gall ..sorry i cant say it ...gallas :bang::bang::bang:

Not everyone is having a kneejerk reaction. I have said for the last year that Dawson is a fantastic defender in the premiership as everything is at 100mph, as soon as he steps up to CL and International level, the lad is going to get found out.

Now i know it's only two games but he cocked up for England and he was a shambles against Young Boys.

However i'm sure he will be back to his normal self tomorrow when Stoke are lobbing balls in the box and all he has to do is head and kick everything that is infront of him.

Then you have Bassong who's positional sense is not very good at all but the majority of the time he gets himself out of sticky situations due to his pace just like BAE at left back.

Yes, but he's talking about PL vs. CL, and the different demands they place on a CB.

I think he maybe saying playing against the likes of Barca, Inter, Real, etc will be a different kettle of fish.

I'm not convinced it's all that different (with the exception of Barca... I'm a tiny bit afraid they may tear us a new arsehole if we come across them in the CL) - United, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc all have excellent strikers which need to be dealt with, much like CL sides from other nations.

I love players who hate losing. he gets out his pram when he loses. Just as Chelseas players do when they lose. Its what makes them multi time champions. Yes, they are arseholes. But winning ones.

With you on that one and its for that reason why i think that this is a decent signing.

agree.....

i got the impression dawson had failed his one and only chance in the champs league, having failed against the mighty YB.
Having not played against any of the above giants,im sure the fella meant YB

How good was gallas against barca?
or in the world cup?

Daws (and Bassong) will come back stronger, no doubt about it.

Gallas, I assume, was involved in the mauling the Arse got against Barca/Messi? I can't remember now though.

just a thought .....

we lose our captain on a free to our rivals...

uproar ..demo's..weve been stitched...they celebrate..mock...take the piss.

now we do the same to them...reaction...

they laugh..mock..take the piss

we celebrate? we mock? we take the piss?

do we fuck!

You don't see the difference between our prize jewel moving on a free at 26 to our rivals and use picking up their former captain who has already been released and is 33?

You really think the situations are comparable?

how anyone can be against this signing is baffling to me, so much experience...
everyone was crying out for a wanker in the team because we are obviously too soft, bellamy could have done that, but he is shagging furry animals.
gallas is just what we need and i am very exited about him coming, yes he is a grade A wanker but thats not a bad thing in my eyes.

From Sky Sports...

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that William Gallas is set to join the club and described the move as a 'no-brainer'.
The French defender was released by Arsenal

at the end of last season and is now on the brink of joining the Gunners' arch North London rivals.
Gallas,
spacer.gif
33, will undergo a medical at White Hart Lane
spacer.gif
on Friday afternoon ahead of moving on a one-year contract.
Redknapp
spacer.gif
has opted to go for the France international to bolster his options in central defence, with Jonathan Woodgate
spacer.gif
still out with a long-term groin injury and Ledley King
spacer.gif
plagued with knee problems.
The Spurs boss admits he did not have to think too hard about securing the services of the former Chelsea
spacer.gif
man, who he confirmed is on the verge of completing his switch.
"He's a no-brainer on a free transfer," said Redknapp.
The centre-back's wage demands - reportedly £80,000 per week - were thought to have been behind his departure from the Emirates Stadium, as manager Arsene Wenger
spacer.gif
was not prepared to break the bank to keep him.
Redknapp denies that Gallas' wage requirements at Tottenham are beyond reasonable and says he will not be on a ridiculous salary.
He added: "He's never asked for big money here.
"The chairman's agreed a one-year contract with him and the wages are more than reasonable."

Let's just get behind him eh? Yeah he was a **** at Chelse aand Arsenal but that's bonus points in my book!

We'll have him for a year at least and he may be the difference maker in some big games.

I for one welcome our new mentally fragile centreback!
