I genuinely think many of you guys are pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Willian has no loyalty to us whatsoever. And given the choice between a team like us (no CL, no real CL pedigree, less wages, less kudos, Portuguese manager/ language) or Chelsea (CL, CL winners a year ago, regular CL pedigree, On of the worlds most successful managers also Portuguese, more wages) why the fuck wouldn't you consider and probably choose Chelsea.

Clearly Chelsea have acted with less than straightforward motives, and as much as I respect Mourinho as a coach, as a man he can be an affably pompous, disingenuous ****, and Abramovic is a an unscrupulous ****, but lets be perfectly honest here, if Liverpool (or Chelsea, Arsenal etc) had been about to sign Willian and we'd nicked him (or when we thought we were nicking him from Liverpool earlier in the deal stage) we'd all be cockafuckinghoop and cooing about how we'd fucked them over.

I'm pretty sure that **** Kia Joobydooby was hawking him all the way and trying to get the best outcome for him and his client. We are all slagging him off, but for all we know he's not pushing anything on Willian against his will, just providing him with options as well as lining his own pocket.

The only part I disagree with is in respecting M as a coach. I have detested him ever since the UEFA cup final of 2003, both as a coach and as a man. Thank God he never became our manager. Billy Nick would have been turning in his grave.

from what I understand, he had little say. Abramovich intervened with a call to Anzhi's owner, and he was off to Chelsea. I guess legally he could refuse to sign with Chelsea, but what 25 year old footballer is going to go against 2 Russian billionaires who'd probably have both your legs broken if there wasnt 30 million pounds on the line?

apparently in the Sunday Times they're saying that according to spurs' sources the chavs got Willian because they had a double deal with Anzhi to sign both Willian and Eto'o

1. We are being gazumped by a club with bigger resources.
2. We are being gazumped by a club playing in bigger competitions.
3. The owner is using his connections to gazump us.
4. The other club is trying to stop us revolutionising into a true rival for the biggest prizes.
5. We have them truly worried.
6. They are low-class and arrogant. Their owner basically stole his fortune in the broad daylight with ruthless efficiency. There is no new low they will not step down to.
7. Lets get over it and move on.

I admit a have Spurs-tinted glasses.... So I really hope Willian has a couple of bad games and enjoys a nice time on the bench and doesn't make the brazil squad for the world cup.

Still heart broken.........

Well i have been supporting Spurs for over sixty years , and yes i have enjoyed my stay, with all the ups and downs, but i still dont want a wanker like this at my club

Guy gets offer from better placed employer, more money, chance of winning the league, CL, domestic cups and that makes him a wanker.

Well I would do and have done the same thing. Even quite recently when I returned to the UK and had job offers.

if you're the prospective employer then he's a wanker. If you're the recruitment agent or the client then you're making the best choice for you.

Spurs think he's a wanker, Spurs fans think he's a wanker.. like Liverpool and Liverpool fans do, too.. Kia and his crew, Willian and Chelsea are probably quite pleased.

Cant argue with any of that except there is one thing you missed, next year is the world cup and possibly the biggest world cup in the history of Brazilian football. Every player wants to be playing at that world cup and make the team and play in front of their home fans.

Now there is one spot in that starting spot that is up for grabs and that is the RW position. Hulk is suffering a 9 match goal drought as well being poor for Brazil. Now all the Brazilians minus Hulk have been trying to get to a top European team as they know Brazilians dont look for players, i.e. in brazil no one gives a shit if you are a great player abroad unless you are a star player playing in the best teams or leagues. Basically you have to be performing well on tv like on the premier league channel to be recognised and not be searched for.

Now he is going to a team that would say are destined to go to the world cup and if anything the only one not going is him and Piazon if he joins. Then when you consider these players are internationals for the best teams in the world, Belguim, Germany, Brazil and Spain. Then maybe he should think again about his options. Whereas with us he is guaranteed to start and get games and not only that he will be likely with teammates in Sandro and little Paul.

I dont know how chelsea are going to do it without selling two tbh or even three including Piazon if they sign Willian. I mean look how do you keep Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, De Bruyne and Willian happy for 3 spots in a world cup year!? Look at the guy he is replacing Moses, he didnt even make the bench for Chelsea last week. There is talk of them playing a false 9 and that will be interesting but it would be a big change for Mourinho.

Chelsea boss has no sympathy for Tottenham over Willian controversy

Willian

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes that Tottenham are not damaged, despite the Blues looking set to win the race to sign Willian.

It is believed that the Brazilian had a medical with Spurs before Chelsea entered an 11th hour bid and the Portuguese boss revealed that Willian had decided to move to Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham supporters are furious that they have missed out on a player they looked set to buy but Mourinho has no sympathy for them.

"[Are we damaging] Tottenham or Anzhi?” he said. “[Anzhi might not be domestic rivals but] they own the player.

“We are not buying [Aaron] Lennon or [Moussa] Dembele.

“Tottenham didn’t have a deal. We are trying to buy a player from Anzhi and a player that they put on the market.”

When asked about anger from Tottenham, Mourinho responded by saying: “What can you do?”

Tbh, why should he really?

If we can't tie a deal up in an orderly fashion, we leave ourselves exposed to this sort of thing.

We have hardly been Angels ourselves in the past, the Ramos saga, Fryers from Man U, Bostock (iirc?) all were perfectly legit, but we took advantage of "gaps" imho.
Difference is we didn't go shouting ours mouths off about how we had managed to get one over on our opponents

You know Mourinho is loving this. The media are as well. It just sucks we're the butt of the joke. Hopefully we will be the last one's laughing when we face them on the pitch.
