Decent listen this. General consensus is that he is a very effective destroyer-type midfielder who wouldn’t be out of place at most top clubs in Europe. Strong defensively but cool-headed and composed, and very neat and tidy on the ball. Has been linked with Sevilla too. He’s arguably Boca’s most important player, more so than even Tevez or Pavon. Established himself in their first team after the departure of Betancour to Juventus, and actually made them look stronger.

This is obviously wrong because people that have never seen him play say he can’t pass.

Kante was the same age too (24) when Leicester signed him.

The tweet states "They don't call him El Kante Colombiano in Argentina for a reason"

They don't call him Kante ? And what's the reason they don't, apart from the fact that that's not what he's called ? :shifty:

After listening to that I really hope the plan isn’t to pair him with dier or Wanyama

Price tag doesnt equate to a good signing, how much was Kante and who had heard of him when he was plucked from France.
Correct however I'm sure I red somewhere the scout responsible for Liecester picking up Kante said nobody expected him to be as good as he has been. They thought the money the paid for him was about right and hed be a decent prem player, and they just got very lucky.

After not being arsed to listen to that, would you mind elaborating a little, please :)

Sounds like another destroyer, not knocking him as a player don’t know enough about him, just personally I’d hope for a bit more of a tempo setting midfielder.

If Wanyama were to leave as has been suggested or dier moved back to CB he sounds like a good signing

Him signing would mean Wanyama is leaving. Perhaps they feel they can get a good fee for Wanyama and replace him with someone cheaper and put profit into signing someone else.

He doesn't need to be some superb passer, that's the job of his CM partner. If he's someone who makes us more solid in certain games allowing attackers to do their thing then be a good signing. Never seen him play though and not sure why we'd be giving up on Wanyama unless he's crocked.

Thanks @mill . I wasn't knocking your post. I really was simply too lazy to sit through 20 minutes of someone waffling on (y)

Wilmar Barrios, to Tottenham?

The English box would have everything arranged for the arrival of the Colombian to the 'Spurs'.

The last news that was known from the press of Argentina, more exactly Radio Miter, is that the Colombian midfielder Wilmar Barrios already had everything arranged to be a new player of Tottenham Hotspur of England after the World Cup of Russia 2018.

Apparently, the coach of the London club, Mauricio Pochettino, was the one who asked directly the soccer player 'coffee' for the following season. The strategist would have carefully observed the performance of Barrios at Boca Juniors since his arrival in 2016 until his last semester.

The table 'xeneize' intended to agree with Barrios an increase in its termination clause of 16 to 20 million dollars to have it during the second half of this year in the Copa Libertadores, however the interest of Tottenham would accelerate the departure of the former Sports player Tolima.

Since his arrival in Boca in 2016, Barrios won the title until becoming indispensable for the team of Guillermo Barros Schelotto, and even for many fans he is already an idol. In the Argentine box he has won two Superliga in 2017 and 2018.

In his last season with Boca he played 1991 minutes in 23 games and scored one goal for the tournament in Argentina, while in the Copa Libertadores he was present in 353 minutes during 4 matches .

For now, Wilmar Barrios is in the concentration of the Colombian National Teamin Kazan preparing the debut of the 'Tricolor' against Japan next Tuesday

I look forward to having volatile debates with everyone on here as we make sweeping observations based on watching him play a couple world cup matches regardless of whether or not he ever signs.

I’d be quite interested in this one if it happened. Because he’s small, diminutive and South American - I assume he’s like Palacios.

The small details in this article makes me think there might be genuine interest in him.

This just feels like a deal that will happen. Has all the makings of a poch player from the little I've seen of him. Poch has always preferred physical attributes to technical attributes in a midfielder, and this guy has an extreme engine.

He needs to convince me. At present I am not a fan. Very physical, non-stop. I question his technical abilities. I stand to be corrected.

He reminds me of a Palacios. Can’t remember how his name was spelt.

It’s rumoured that it’s henderson over Dier for England on monday..maybe Poch will pursuede Eric that his best position IS Centre back and this signing will reflect that...

If it helps stop Pochettino from having nightmares and flashbacks from Newcastle 5 Tottenham 1 then it's probably a good signing. He's probably dreamt that match so much he's probably started dreaming about a team full of Sissokos
