Id really like to see us get Tapsoba and Boniface from Leverkusen. Despite their Leverkusen’s bluster, I think we could get both for about 100m. Sell Richy to recoup a reasonable chunk of that outlay

My uneducated guess is Kelly at CB, Jota at LWF (on loan), and maybe a CM if Hojbjerg leaves.
Dont believe (opinion) we will spend much more than that in January.
We can then reassess in the summer.

Why is it "bluster", the club bid about 50m for him in the summer and they didn't accept remember? Tapsoba signed a new contract in September until 2028 and Boniface joined them this summer, also 2028 contract, plus Leverkusen are top of the table right now. They rejected ~50m in the summer for Tapsoba and apparently wanted ~70m, with a new contract signed and wanting to get CL this season you're 100% not getting both for 100m combined

This is exactly like Southampton/Brighton/Tottenham this summer gone with Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern. A fee was set in stone all summer yet they faffed about with bids below it then paid what the selling clubs wanted in the end (or more)

Selling club: "this is the fee we want for the player, we will accept nothing less"

Buying clubs: "how about x offer that's below what you want"

Seller: "pay the fee, we will accept nothing less"

Buyer: "how about this offer that's still below that"

Seller: "....."

Ad infinitum until someone pays the fee the selling club wants. If Leverkusen would've accepted less Tapsoba would've been here this summer but they didn't, he signed a new contract, they've improved as a team and that fee has increased substantially because of that. There's so much money in football now for the Prem especially the market is less "hang on until they give up and accept less to get a deal" and more "other clubs will pay what we want so we won't accept less, because why would we?". Either they get their money or they keep a player they want to keep, simple as

Everybody saying we need a left winger when we have Solomon, Johnson and Richarlison. I think we need a pacy RW who provides width. Can also push Kulusevski central were I think he'd be much more effective.

Johnson is a RW.

How about a left footed winger, that can play both sides

Johnson is right footed, can play both but likely prefers right. We need the opposite

I keep seeing we’re strongly linked to Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge, 18 year old Norwegian left winger.
Pacy, tricky, dribbler type.

Maybe he’s the one.
Apparently Paratici has met his representatives going by rumours.

At the moment he’s extremely lightweight. His build reminds me of Demarai Gray. He’s 18 so still time to grow into his frame, but he could get pushed around in the PL.

Johnson will be used at RW but will be an option at LW too.

What we need though is a potential superstar 1 on 1 type for LW. Someone who is explosive and is a 2 way dribbler.

We would then have Deki as a wide creator on the right, Johnson as a versatile runner for either flank who uses pace off the ball and is a goal threat. Solomon would then be the 4th choice who is another dribbling type and can cover either flank.

Richarlison shouldn’t even be considered. He isn’t good enough and should be sold if we want to try and improve as a team.

He played LW against Arsenal.
And RW v Sheffield United when he came on. Solomon is out for a while, Perisic is out for the season, Gil we have no idea how he will do after his injury, Richarlison is okay at LW nothing more.

We do need someone there I think.

For numbers, I think we're fine for wingers.

What we need is someone higher quality for right now. Whether that's a current player who steps up a level or we buy someone, either is fine.

Can't see us buying a LW when we have a ton of players who can play there and other squad priorities.

Soloman, Richi, Son, Gil, Perisic, even Johnson can play there. Ok some are injured right now and/needed for other positions, but we are not short.

Of course a shiny new top player in any position would be nice I just see that as an ambition for the summer.

Before then, I think we'll be looking to offload Dier, Sess, PEJ and probably Gil and get in a CM and a CB before we look at options up front again.

I don't see many problems with the squad right now, it is good, just that as always you want to renew and improve.
