Then I think for other positions we need to sort out:

Alternate option for Maddison / LW player - Eze. Although he won't be cheap he should be getable in January due to being CAA Base client.
LCB - Kelly. With only 6 months left on contract it would be mad for us not to get him signed up in January.

I reckon that would give us great strength in depth for the rest of this season and boosts our HG contingent massively.

In: Kalvin Phillips + Eze + Kelly
Out: PEH

Then going into the summer we will have been able to properly assess:

Gil - probably time to leave unless he's cracked on with us at LW.
Lo Celso - probably redundant with Eze in the team.
Dier - contract is up.
Lloris - contract us up.
Perisic - contract is up.
Sessegnon - time to move him on.
Skipp - might not be needed anymore, but if there's not enough interest in him then keep as squad depth player that's HG and AT.

That's when we need to get in a proper long term Kane ST replacement and a pacey LW / RW option.

Phillips isn't the first and won't be the last player to go to City and disappear into obscurity. Players like him are wasted there.

Phillips would be an excellent addition to our midfield options.

Helps with HG too. Swapping him for Hojbjerg isnt the worst idea. Plus he can cover at centre back if push came to shove.

Obviously CB is the top priority but beyond that, Eze would be the perfect player.

We need another alternative to Maddison because we can't count on Gio's fitness, and even with a fully-fit squad Eze could potentially slot in as our starting LW until the summer. He'd round out our attacking options nicely.

With only 18 months left on his contract it will be Palace's last chance to get full price for him. They're also likely to be comfortably safe from relegation by the end of January given how poor the bottom four are. January is a sensible time for Eze to be sold, unlike a number of the other players we might want to target.

Nusa just came on for Norway against Cyprus. It’s only Cyprus, but he immediately transformed Norway’s attack. This kid is going to be a star.

Edit: Just got an assist. Stealing the headlines from Haaland and Ødegaard.

Yep i would go all out for Neto. He won't be cheap but he will undoubtedly make a massive impact.

I love Richy and i want him to succeed, but he isn't lethal enough and needs 2 or 3 chances to score 1.

Of course, I would also add another centre back should one be obtainable in Jan.
Neto is a great player, fantastic dribbler, quick and can create chances/assists but if you are wanting to sign him to improve on Richarlison's finishing (in it's current state) you are going to be disappointed.

Neto has scored fewer goals than his xG suggested he should have by the same % that Richarlison has (they both only score 42% of what their xG suggests they should). For comparison, Son scores 44% more than his xG suggests he should be.

Assuming we get Europe next season, HG v NonHG won't be an issue, in act it will be NonHG & HG total v HG Club Trained that will be an issue.

For Europe, you can have 17 NonHG, 4 HG and 4 HG Club Trained.

Our current squad (excluding those out on loan), we have 19 or 20* Non HG, 6 HG (Johnson, Maddison, Sessegnon, Davies, Phillips and Forster) and 3 or 4* HG Club Trained (Skipp, Austin and Whiteman).

Due to contract expiry, we could lose 3 x NonHG (Perisic, Dier & Lloris), 1 x HG (Forster) and 2 x HG Club Trained (Whiteman & Austin)

*depending on if Sarr is classed as NonHG or HG Club Trained.

Would absolutely love Nusa. The perfect left winger for a Ange team. And still only 18 years old, insane potential.

Can’t wait to see him against Spain this weekend.

Don't forget he has only just turned 21. All young strikers will go through a dry spell. Remember Kane, when he was 22, the season after he scored 21 in his first full season in the PL only scored 1 goal in the first 13 games in all comps and didn't get his 2nd goal until late October.

Not saying I rate Orban, just too early to judge on a small dry spell.
For sure he still has time to develop but the whole attraction with him was the fact he was dominating a lesser league.

Now that lesser league is dominating him.

I'd be shocked if he gets his move this year or even in two years time for a fee that's even remotely close to the rumoured asking price this summer.

Lots of water to go under the bridge before Jan.

The one certainty in my view is we need a back up CB with Kelly looking the likely option.

The rest, depends on how things play out.

Sarr will be HG in premier but not count to be Club trained in Europe

so the issued will be in Europe
We have only 2 CTs from minimum 4
3rd choice GK (Austin or Whiteman)
And Skipp

that mean we can registered list A player only 23 from 25 maximum quota

Lyons-Foster could be registered and Santiago will be 21 in April.

For me if we look at our squad I'd see this, I'm only using those listed on 1st Team Website:

Vicario - Forster - Lloris - Austin - Whiteman

Udogie - Davies - Sessegnon - Reguilon
Romero - Dier - Tanganga
VDV - Phillips - Rodon
Porro - Emerson - Spence

Bissouma - PEH - Skipp
Bentancur - Sarr - Ndombele
Maddison - GLC

Johnson - Solomon - Perisic
Kulusevski - Gil
Sonny - Richarlison - Veliz

Looking at that squad, those in red I think will be sold & those in orange I think could be sold, either by us wanting to move them on or them wanting to move to play first team football elsewhere. This would then leave us short at CB & a backup for Maddison.

With both Donley & Dorrington right on the fringes of the first team it bodes very well, however they are young and shouldn't be relied upon next year if we were to get Champions League football.

I think we should sign either an experienced CB or someone like Kelly and I think we need to bring is another player who can step in if/when Maddison needs a rest.

As for the LW spot, Im intrigued to see how Johnson can make that his own and think he could become a very good goalscoring LW from that position with Sonny up top. Veliz I think needs game time this year as he has the physicality to play at this level already but just needs to get up to the speed of the game here in comparison to Argentina.

You don't get my point, if we just fill in full quota, we can do that.
But it just only Quantity.

My point of view
If we have the real useful, club trained quota just only 3rd Choice GK and Skippy
that mean in Europe we can register 11 x 2 = 22 + 3rd choice GK Maximum (Assume we have full 4 Associated Quota)

Skippy shall be 6th choice of Midfield.
Now we have
1. Maddision
2. Biss
3. Pape Sarr
4. Lolo
5. GLC or new Create AM
6. Skipp
you can see we can't replace Højbjerg with Foreign quota or AT quota because we can't register the players Quota no. 24 and 25 in Europe because we lack the Quality Club trained player.

I actually think we'll be fine on HG next year.

Let's say we sign a CB and keep Dorrington (Club trained) and Phillips (Association trained) next year as 4th / 5th choice.

Then we could leave Phillips out of the EL/CL squad for 1 year and have Dorrington as 4th CB for Europe.

This would allow us to replace Hojbjerg with another foreign CM if we wanted to.

Then the 3rd GK and two additional squad places can be club trained.

So probably two from Scarlett, Devine, Donley, Moore, Hall, Santiago - and one from Whiteman, Austin, Gunter.

The year after next (2025/26) Phillips will have been here 2 years and so becomes eligible for the B List (U21), so wouldn't have to be left out.

The year after that he becomes club trained IF we've not loaned him out.

The other possibility is maybe Donley or Devine are fast tracked and replace Lo Celso as Maddison back up next year, depending on their progress.

Then we could loan out Dorrington and keep Phillips in the EL/CL squad.

Maybe one for the summer transfer thread but if we need home grown for Europe and with Davies/Sessegnon having 12 months left on their contracts we have a buy back at £6m for Dennis Cirkin.

He plays regularly for Sunderland but does he have the potential to come in and compete with Udogie.

anyone more knowledgable on him please

he is you know!

Don't most buy backs have a time limit? Reguilon was 2 years wasn't it.

He's been gone over 2 years.
