During the Spurs games last night, did anyone else notice the BT Sport commentator's insistence on referring to Bruno Fernandes as 'Fernandesh' when mentioning the Man U score? I wouldn't mind so much if he was one of those commentators who took his craft seriously and liked to research the correct pronunciations etc, but with Jenas co-commentating right next to him pronouncing Hoy-be-air correctly, the very same commentator kept calling him Hoy-berg all night! Self-righteous, pompous prick!
Good. That's off my chest
On FIFA it’s pronounced ‘Fer-nansh’ by Derek Rae. He also used ‘Jedson Fer-nansh’ for Gedson.
The least appealing pronunciation from him in the game, though, is for Toni Kroos - I can’t even begin to think of a phonetic for that one, but it’s like nails down a chalkboard for me every time I hear it!
