Ribery has been brilliant the past three seasons, wouldn't class him as world class but he's close, definitely one of the best if not the best in his position.

Only so many injuries a player can go through unfortunately. At Madrid he had evolved into a near perfect striker. I always feel bad for him that it never quite worked out. Had a good career but should have smashed the England all time scorers record.

I think all that viagra's twisting Pele's head...

Mind you, he could play - granted all I've seen is the 1958 W C goals, plus all the 1970 WC.

He was surrounded by the best team in the world. Maradonna was surrounded by crap and he single handedly won Argentina the WC

Yeah, but Pele could play, though. He was the real deal.

Not really interested in talking about Maradonna.

Evertime I watched Raul play I thought he was dog shit. I know his records speak for themselves but always watching Madrid I thought they missed a guy up front with to finish. He was especially toilet when I watched Spain play.

Others I know will love the guy but I could never see it, perhaps bad luck on the games I saw him play.

Bit of a myth that Argentina were the equivalent of say current day Scotland yet still managed to win the World Cup all because of Maradona. They had some quality players in that side, but yeah, Diego certainly made the difference and they won't have won it without him. The biggest myth surrounding Maradona is that he single handedly led Napoli to a couple of titles. They had some real quality in that side alongside him.

Every English player since Shearer:

Rooney
Lampard
Gerrard
Beckham
Ferdinand
Terry

etc.

All of them decent enough, but none of them even approaching the highest levels.

Cashley's probably the only possible exception.

Cashley has been suopwerb throughout his career. As much as it hurts to say.

I can give you an English defender, better than the more acclaimed Rio Ferdinand, and a bigger twonk than Cashley will ever be...this centre half was world class.

Raul is my favourite player, the send off he got from Madrid was disrespectful, the guy can do no wrong in my eyes.

I thought you were talking about Ledley, but he's not a twonk...

Don't you dare say Terry, because if you do.....

Seriously though, who is it? It's hard to think of more twonks than Cashley.

Err, it's pretty obvious. Although he who shall not be named is a **** there was no doubting his ability.

I don't think he's been called world class yet but I've never seen tom cleverly have a really good game. Not sure why he's playing for England other than being a united player.

I hope you don't mean Paul Scholes as well. Criminally under used by a succession on England managers. The England team should have been built around him but he was shafted out on the left wing to accommodate 2 midfielders who just did not work as a pair (Lamps/Gerrard). No wonder he retired early from Int football....

I was too young to have 1st hand knowledge of Napoli at the time but didn;t the same team get relegated the season after Maradona left.
