I thought we could do with a thread to build up to the WC and talk about potential people who are picking up form and looking like they deserve a place.

Adam Lallana's performances have been excellent recently, friend of mine is a Saints fan and I was saying to him after we played them away that he stood out head and shoulders for me and since then he's kept his form up.

The spotlight seems to have gone off Ross Barkley a bit lately but every time I've watched him on TV I've been impressed.

As for our boys, if Lennon keeps his form up he should be on the plane and it's up to Andros to show what he's got more consistently now. I don't agree with Sherwood that Defoe is already in, if Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck all stay fit and scoring at this level that only leaves one place to battle for. Walker is a no brainer really but Dawson and Rose will miss out.

Milner, Lescott and Richards (I know he's been injured) aren't gonna be happy with the lack of minutes they're seeing in the Prem, will be interesting what happens with them in the window.

I've got a feeling Kyle Walker won't go. I hope he does cause he's been good this season. I can't see us taking 2 right backs. Roy will probably go for Johnson with cover from Apalling Smalling or jones because of centre back cover. Hope I'm wrong but was going through the squad with pals and think we'll go for more options further up the pitch. Thoughts?

Watch United this season and none of them deserve to be in that squad says it all when my united supporting dad is disappointed when Johnny Evans is injured

Smalling is a very average player. Only just good enough for the prem. Jones is good when fit, which is not very often, and can cover positions but I'm not totally convinced . I'd take Kyle but we were trying to guess what Roy will do.

Really? I can't see him being in the mix. Dangerous on his day but not consistent.
He's a great option to have in the squad. Has played well in a shitty AV team with Benteke not helping much.

Watch this space imo.

I think he'll go and be in the team. Have England lost a game he's played in yet?

Can I just say that if John Terry comes out of international retirement and gets in the squad I'd do my nut.

Hope you're right. He deserves t it, just think Roy will piss us off though. Agree about Terry too, I'd struggle to get behind England with that twat in the team.

Milner will 100% go IMO. Will need his workrate/fitness over there in the conditions. Can play wide right/left, and if we were really desperate, right back!

I think he's been quite a fair manager so far. He picked Baines ahead of Cole before he was dropped by Chelsea,he's picked players from smaller clubs and he's given a few young players a chance.

One player that shouldn't be on the plane is Tom Cleverly. He's so average it's unbelievable.

Adam Johnson seems to have raised his game the last couple of weeks, giving himself a chance?
