People celebrating Russia's win leaves a bad taste in my mouth, are people forgetting what an awful country they are?

LGBT people are constantly persecuted in Russia.

I respect and understand what you're saying, but imo it's all about the underdog which were Russia in this case.

Whatever happens now, one of Russia, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Colombia or England will be in the final. I wouldn't have put money on that before the start.

Edit. Come to think of it I did.
Is it only 1 final between the lot in the past?

I can’t give this post enough negative ratings. This is a football tournament not a civil liberties convention

Because sometimes people just like watching football for the football and stop worrying about everything else?

Honestly, this is the best world cup I can remember... And I'm 41.Happy to see some of the big teams get outdone by 'lesser' opposition. It's been thrilling on so many levels.

Happened a lot in 2002 as well. IIRC France and Argentina both out in the group stages, Italy and Spain both went out to South Korea, Turkey got to the semi-finals. Playing almost half an hour against a Brazil side that had Roque Junior and Kleberson in the side - we really should have won that tournament.

Colombia and Croatia are going to be tough, but we now have a far better chance of getting to the final than anyone expected not too long ago...

In minute 119 + 45 seconds the ball ended up in de Gea's hands. He took a couple of steps...and rolled it out to the full back....who played it inside to the CB. Whistle goes.

That isn't sticking to your principles - it's rank bloody stupidity.

Oi, let's wait a few hours before you take for granted Croatia will even be in the mix. ;)
