How do all those who were incandescent with rage at Neymar’s theatrics feel about Henderson turning a tiny little nudge in the chest/chin into being whacked in the face with a sledgehammer?

I say we get everyone who spouts this shitty argument to decide whether they want to get headbutted in the jaw by Barrios or have Layun place his foot upon their ankle

Then we’ll see how comparable they are

The same broadly...but it's a question of measures and proportion.

As for Vardy... hurt his groin. Had an injection post game and is a doubt for Sweden.

That’s why he didn’t take a penalty, the process is that only fit players take them.

Been injured all season, how could he have gone. Even then I think he is a bit more of an all rounder than a genuine playmaker.

Obviously if he was fit agree an all rounder but his performance against Madrid the balls he played that is what England don't have.

True. He's comfortable on the ball though and would've helped to transition play from defence to attack more effectively. As it is, we're bypassing the midfield and against a better team we're likely to come unstuck. But as you say, Winks has been injured and wouldn't have played anyway. Shame.

Oh to have someone like Carrick at his peak in this England team. Would make a massive difference.

Wasn't even comparable. Henderson didn't roll around screaming like a shark had bitten his leg off...

It wasn't a great look but as others have said at least he wasn't rolling around like he was being dry bummed by a poltergeist.

TBH very few footballers have covered themselves in glory when it comes to feigning or exaggerating injury his WC.

No, he clutched face - which hadn't been touched - and fell to the ground like he'd been hit with a fucking cricket bat, when the guy had gently nudged the bottom of his chin.

If you try it, the chin is quite an awkward place to hold all by itself. I don’t see what’s so controversial about holding your face in general, of which the chin is part of, when you’ve been headbutted there

You're right, of course and I'd also say that given the circumstances of the game and the way the Colombian players were provoking, acting and overreacting, even if Henderson did make a meal of it, you can sort of understand there's a difference and to suggest he's comparable to Neymar, a player who's been doing this as a matter of course every time he feels the breath of an opposing player, is quite honestly, laughable.

Of course you wouldn’t. You’d only see the controversy if it was a Johnny Foreigner doing it.

I’ve just conducted a controlled enivrement test. 20 times out of 20 I managed to successfully hold my chin and not mistakenly hold my whole face everywhere but my chin.

I also managed not to fall over when doing it.
