Sterling ran his ass off today. Yeah, Yeah he could've done a lot better in front of goal etc...but his general graft and application today was spot on. Same goes for Lingard.

Kane has his 6 goals from 10 shots. That must really worry the England management team, if it doesn't then something is very wrong.

Anyone could run their arse off and graft but what really counts is end product and in England's case its almost all from set pieces.

Very worried about Walker he makes a mistake every game. He’s a senior player he should have cut out all that shit by now.

Rooting for England now when we (Sweden) are out. But I'm happy as long as a Spurs player win the WC.

Totally agree people focus far too much on the bad rather than the good

But if Croatia win it I'd be happy for Luka and Charlie. They both played huge parts in the most enjoyable seasons under 'Arry.

Disagree, anyone can run... At this level you need a minimal level of technical competency. And I see none in Sterling. No awareness, no composure, no clue. He's a waste of a vital position.

In my opinion he is the only week link and he has to be changed for Rashford next game. He just has to.

I feel bad knocking any of the team because we are through to the world up semi final!!! But shit is abut to get serious and we can win this fucking thing

Running around is what was expected of Pavlyuchenko. Sterling has 2 goals in 42 caps.

Maybe but Kane and Dele are playing deep to accommodate him, he’s there to score or create goals not just run around, and he isn’t doing either. Either one of the others playing in that position and we would have scored more goals. We won’t get as many chances in the next game/games, we have to take them.

Kane could’ve been put through about 3 times today but everyone chose the wrong pass, in particular Sterling who is so desperate for a goal, he tried to score instead of creating a certain goal for Kane.

So far he has a tap in, a 5 yard header, 3 penalties and a deflection. The worst montage ever in World Cup golden boot history.... and I couldn’t give a flying fuck. And neither could he I’m sure. But I’ll bet my mortgage he wants to score a worldie to show everyone he can score stunners on the big stage. He often gets into good positions but just never received the ball. He’s having to rely on set pieces every game. Hopefully this will change in the semi (I think it will if we play Russia).

As for everyone else. Trippier’s value must have literally tripled during this World Cup. Genuine contender for player of the tournament. Maguire was excellent. He’s great in the air and at set pieces but a dribbler like Hazard I think would cause him massive problems.

Sterling was Sterling. Ran a lot and created space but has the finishing ability of an 87 year old disabled woman (for England anyway). Dele took his goal well and played better than he has done but still not at his best, though grew into the game. Need him even more further forward. Henderson was ok, great block. Pickford excellent. Dier did well when he came on this time. Linguard good running, poor quality. Everyone else did ok. Don’t think we played particularly well and were very boring at times but fuck it, so were Sweden and we won.

I agree with the latter but not that they have minimal technical competenency - it you mean football technique that is. Both Sterling and Lingard are pacey with good dribling skills (particularly Sterling) but then, yes, I agree: they have minimal level of awareness and decision making.
I have not watched Lingard in the EPL much but in the WC it strikes but that he always (yes always) have a poor touch in the "final moment", whether it is setting up the ball to shoot or a vital pass or a dribling which often goes wrong with the final touch of the ball..
