Sometimes I wonder why we are slapping £50m down for another LCB.

Because we are in four competitions next season and Conte wants an international style squad, i.e. two potential starters for each position. After Winks, Moura and Bergwijn went on against Norwich, all he had left on the bench was Rodon and Gollini.

But if he wasn‘t ours already, I’d bet Conte would be all over Davies for that position.
