Wouldn't bother me, as long as we had success, but it would be nice to have some english players involved

Yes!

That would mean no:

Robinson
King
Woodgate
Dawson
Lennon
Huddlestone
Jenas
Bent

Who would we replace them with? People always talk about FM players but to be honest there are very few players around that could improve on that group of players.

It would definitely bother me. It's one of the reasons I can't abide Arsenal. If poss it should be a rule that half the squad be holding a Brit passport. It's detrimental to the national game and the national team and if anyone can provide a better reason that that I'll ignore them, 'cos I know I'm right.

Bullshit AllSeeingEye....I am a THFC supporter, NOT an Engerland follower....There are no connections between the two. OK, if we want second class football then we can adopt the plan that has brought the national side SOOOOO much success over the past 50 years!
Sadly, it does not work like that, well not in the real world of winning the BIG Trophy's and League Titles! I will fully endorse ANY plan that brings success to THFC. The world id a lot bigger and brighter than our own shores....so why not encompass ALL nations in our striving for perfection......OR we can adopt the traditional approach of the FA and reaffirm the dominance of Britain but without any substance to our claim (call it a British tradition? lol) COYS!

Yes a Spurs without at least a few British players would bother me. I do not really want us to go down the path of the Gooners. But we do not really know what the future holds. If it meant great glory but no Brits where would I stand, I in all honesty don't know. It looks to be going down the road that a few home grown players are going to be needed Blatter gets his way.

I see Scotish, Welsh, Irish as all being foriegn. It's England we come from, and support. Anything else is a rival and not with the club truely in their heart.

So that would exclude Blanchflower, Mackay, White, Jones, Medwin and Brown. Probably Marchi, as well, as he obviously wasn't really English. Right…

And Jennings, England, Gilzean, ad infinitum?

:duh:

It wouldn't bother me but it would bother England!
We have to understand that although the English Premiership is the best in the world, England as a nation is poor and even the Italian manager says he doesn't have much player to pick from.
We need to have homegrown talent, but they take time to develop and then they are expensive.
Going for Bentley is good and keeping Jenas and Hudd as well as Lennon is vital.
I notice IMO that England do not really produce left wingers bar a few and good strikers/forwards.
I know some may not agree, but in the level of international nations we have produced good goalies, excellent strong defenders and midfielders but left winger and forwards/strikers, we hardly have the luxuries.
Rooney is an exception and Owen's form dipped. Some say we have Crouch, Defoe, Bent... and i don't really rate them on an international scale!
So, I wouldn't mind BUT it would hinder the England squad!

That's poop. There are connections, players battle harder to gain selection in the national team.

Ok, so Engerland (as you so put it) may not have done much to impress in the last year. But our World Cup pedigree isn't that bad in recent tournaments (QF and SF).

You are of course entitled to your opinion.

The reason I said British passport was more of a local issue. I'd just prefer it, and that's my opinion.

I laugh out loud every time they call Arsenal and English Premiership team. There's virtually nothing English about it.

What's the point of having an English Premier League if you're not even going to have half the players from at least the British Isles?

It makes a mockery of the set up.

Tottenham is an English team, I'd like to think we could win something without having to rely on a team chock-full foreign imports.

Having said that, I don't want people to think it's a xenophobic thing. I appreciate that Tottenham, and subsequently the English Leagues, have benefited greatly from a little trans-continental flair and style.

If you are not English then I wouldn't expect you to completely grasp what I'm getting at. That's no disrespect. You have your opinion, and I have mine.

Where does bullshit come into it?

You rude nonce.

Yes it would bother me very much and actually any English club without English / British players would bother me. Like I've said before Arse is a disgrace in English football playing mostly with 0 English players.

Spurs is an English club and so it should remain!! I'm not saying that all players should be English / British, but IMO at least 5 out of 11 should be.

The English / British football is what I love (of course Spurs is the one and only club for me!!!) I am also supporting team England and we need to have more English players in the Prem to keep the national team competitive!

And if it matters to someone, I am not English and not even British.

That's funny considering every 2nd 'English' person seems to have either an 'Irish Grandmother' or a 'Scottish Grandad'.

So you consider a man from Dublin living in London to be a foriegner on the same scale as a man from from Madrid?

You don't even need a fucking passport to go between Ireland and England.
