I would sell him at that fee. My decision is based on his little contribution over 2 seasons. We can all see he as talent but he just hasn't learned when to release the ball and what decision to make at the key moment and I can't see that changing.

£16m from a Spanish/Italian side would be pushing it but would snatch their hands off, would get no more than half that from an EPL side

I'm in the camp that wants to see how he does this season and then assess one way or another next summer. He simply has to produce more this season or he will be sold.

That said, if you were asking me would I take 16 million for him now if I was told we were going to go out and buy Yarmolenko with it....

Totally depends on how the player feels about it to. Is he really hungry to try and make it work...or is he already thinking about a new challenge elsewhere.

Lots of variables behind the scenes that would be crucial in such a decision so its a bit meaningless attempting to say one way or another.

I would be very surprised if any team from europe paid €22m for him,
He should have hit the ground running last season, having acclimatised the previous season.

Lots of people saying let's give him another season. The problem with that is that if he has another poor season he will be almost unsellable. So the question for those who want to see him given all this season is are you willing to take risk of getting nothing in summer 2016 as opposed to getting 15-20m today ? I'm not because I haven't seen enough to suggest he will turn it around. I think we should follow City's lead on Jovetic.

I think it is unlikely he will be successful this season and if he is poor again we would lucky to get £6 million if we can £16 million we should 100% take it

probably, but i have a feeling yarmolenko wouldn't fare much better either.

Yarmolenko is strong as an ox. Lamela's problem is that he's a featherweight. At least Yarmolenko wouldn't get shoved off the ball like Lamela does. I'd swap in a heartbeat after 2 seasons of Lamela yielding very little.

Been a supporter of his, backed him and always hoped for the best - but his first two outings this season (despite being brief) don't feel me with confidence. Lamela's problem still appears to be how quickly he is put under pressure when in possession, almost as if he's constantly caught by surprise as to the speed of the prem and that he's going to get closed down immediately.

However, having said that I feel he was put on at the worst possible moment on Saturday - why remove Dembele from providing a shield in front of Walker I don't know.

And who says we'd receive such an offer for him this summer?

I know the OP is posing a hypothetical...but I don't see us getting such an offer.

His stock is still reasonably high in Italy, I don't know exactly how much they'd pay but there will be interest. If he has another poor season I think that falls away. He has the potential to be a second David Bentley, another player we should have taken a pretty quick but large loss on rather than lose everything.

Well, depends on what they would offer...and how much faith Pochettino and the player himself has in terms of improving this season.

Given that he is in the Argentina squad still/again, his stock will still be viewed quite highly by many.

I'd like to know if anyone has told him what colour shirt we play in before making a decision....

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but the players we should have bought to replace Bale were either Reus (@THOWIG suggested this) or Griezman, both have the pace we lost with Bale.
