After a full and grovelling apology in front of the world's media declaring that he was wrong and that Spurs is, after all, the best place to be as a footballer, that he promises to come back, change his attitude and give nothing less than 100 percent at all times and stay as long as we want him I'd consider it.

Id make him go through all that then tell him to do one

Never in a month of Sundays. Complete tosser who massively disrespected the club, its fans and it's other players. It's beyond me how anyone could actually want him back, regardless of his skill level.

If old red nose does decide to get rid of Berba can only see him goin abroad.Bet Levy had a big smile on his face after seeing him take that penalty.£30m thank you v.much.Whats his value at present? As good as a player he was with us wouldn't like to see him at the Lane again.Agree with comments previously mentioned.

I wouldn't mind if he costs no more than 15 million. We may be able to make another profit in a year's time to help fund the new stadium.

Hehehe. That was actualy how I was going to finish the sentence, then I changed it to 'consider it', because to be honest, if he did do all that I think I would.

Absolutely definitely yes.

Can you imagine that strike partnership with Modric, Lennon and our defence?

Did someone just say Gerrard isn't world class??

What the Steven Gerrard, who is regarded by most of the highest calibre of footballers, pundits and coaches throughout the world, as probably the most complete midfielder in the game currently, not world class?

That is a very bold statement, and one that couldn't be further from the truth!

I'm torn, my head wants him my heart doesn't.

I doubt he'd come back anyway :-(

I was gutted when he left but no, I can't see any point in taking him back after the way he left. I am as sure as I can be that he wouldn't want to come back anyway, especially after the booing he got at Middlesbrough. He is a wonderful player when he wants to be and I am grateful for his amazing performances for us - but he has burned his bridges.

I think we're well on the way to a talented and gritty team - we'll be fine without him.

And boy did I laugh at his pathetic penalty attempt!

He is an arrogant, self centred, smug bastard.
He treated our club, fans, and players with complete disrespect.
He lied and stropped to get his "dream move".
Dimitar Berbatov is, IMO, one of the world's greatest fuckers!

Would I have him back.....fuck yes.....especially if we got him back at a discount. Bebatov and Keane together again.....with Modric and (hopefully) a new and improved GDS........the top 4 would be easily broken into with these guys together. Get into the top 4 and Champs League, spend the money wisely on a replacement, and then get the rest of the squad to kick the fuck out of him and dump him in the Thames !

Berbatov? Do I really want to get into this debate? God yes I do.....I love this guy. Probably the best first touch in world football, links up well with Keane and Lennon as we know, imagine him and Modric? I think I might cry with the excitement.

I don't hold any grudge against him for leaving, I might have been pissed about it, but I was more pissed about Ferguson and the way he acted.

Berbatov was the best player I have seen play for Spurs. I don't include Ginola in that because I don't remember enough of him. By all accounts, and from what I do remember he was class.

He did not want to play for us, if i remember rightly, we were not good enough for him and his ego, soooo the chances of that piece of shit coming back to the lane are slimmer than slim in a slimline suit......thank fuck!
Let him sit in the corner and sulk with Sol........

People are quickly forgetting that he showed some loyalty in joining us in the first place when United made late moves to hijack the deal. He could have easily gone there instead

I don't see too much difference between him and the keane situation. Levy described them as both being disruptive influences. Berbatov scored 46 goals for us in 2 seasons - That to me shows a degree of commitment. He very rarely missed games through injury and has been the greatest spurs player I have ever had the fortune to watch regularly in a spurs shirt

Stranger things have happened - It was so obvious to see he really enjoyed his partnership with keane - they were so good together it was untrue - The problem at the time was we didn't have better players when they played. NOW we have a more mature lennon, the quality of modric a very good keeper and king playing more regularly

I would absolutely love us to sign him for 20m but I do think he needs to apologise to the fans (something I am still waiting Keane to do)

Yes.

We know he can play with most of our current team, and Berba and Luka Modric would instinctively be on precisely the same footballing wavelength.

I also remember the pre-season game (Dortmund) when Gio was played as a floating striker. First half, Gio was paired with Bent and didn't get a kick. Second half, Gio played off Berba's control & vision, and gave easily his best performance in a Spurs shirt.

It was a glimpse of a footballing future that never came to pass.

Loyalty? the man doesn't know the meaning of the word, refusing to play for Spurs because he wanted to go to Man Utd, spreading ill will and causing disruption within the team.
It was us that were loyal to him, by giving in to demands and increasing his wages in the hope that he would in turn stay with us and perform in the manner in which he was paid to do so.
It seems to be his nature that he will never be satisfied, (or his ego will never be satisfied), just look at the supporters comments from OT and sports commentators, they say he still has that attitude he showed at Spurs, he wont change and become a great player, he had his chance with us, and he shit on us!

Don't want him simply for the fact that we seem to be having a settled team with nobody thinking they are too good to be with us. We need to make sure that we sign players that fit this mentality not to cause disruption in the dressing room again, as was evident when the said 'cleft of venus' was with us.

If we can get him at a discount then yes.
Mind you I'm working on the assumption that the events of this season will be such a shock to his system that he'll give one hundred per cent every game and that he realises he'll only get into the Champions league if he fires us there.
Problem is with Berba he just might go into an even bigger sulk.
I can't see Fergie cutting his loses and selling back to us though.
