Honestly, surprised it took this long to see another link. Full credit to @Berbatonghen for supplying it.

As for the legitimacy, who knows. Would certainly be easy paper talk, but on the other hand I'm not sure even those journalists know just how much of a Levy deal this is.

I'll spare you gents another spiel about my take on this player, as I think those of you who frequent this subforum are fully aware of how I feel about this guy, and I'll just say it's now all the more so given how weak we are in belief, confidence, and responsibility-taking with the ball at feet. I would absolutely love to see this fella in lillywhite come February 1st.

Rather have Yarmolenko, although he's pretty similar to Lamela except shows more creativity.

Impressed me in the EL ties against us last season.

A tricky LWF available on a pre-contract.

Could be this January's Holtby

Andre Ayew fits all the same criteria too (an exciting LWF with 6 months left on his contract)

I still think Poch will push for Rodriguez though

He is one of those players that have an outstanding game then you dont see him for the next 3/4 games, Im not sure he is consistant enough while having some ability.

isn't he (Konop) supposed to have a bit of an attitude, though, from reading previous threads on this guy?

Yeah in regards to attitude I've heard he is a bit like Ade in that he only plays well when he can be arsed.

I would love us to sign Konoplyanka. Stick a large win bonus in his contract so he doesn't go all Ade on us though.

There really isn't much point in saying "i'd rather have player X" if there is actually sweet FA chance of us being able to sign that player. Kono is a punt but he's a relatively cheap punt with a massive upside if he isn't just looking for a paycheck.

That might be down to that he is feels like he is stuck in his current situation that he wants out of. It's not a good trait to have but he wants to move on and has been forced to stay for at least one year now.

We aren't shopping for Ukrainians bud, we need a left sided attacker, which Yarmolenko is not. His game is also based on power and dribbling trickery, while what we specifically need is pace.

Is it the same guys who say we should ignore Kono's "problematic attitude" who said the same about Balotelli and wanted Spurs to sign, as Poch/life at Spurs no doubt would sort out his attitude problems :D

I don't think Konoplyanka has displayed the same ammount of bad behavior as Balotelli, at least as far as I know. I'd also like to state for the record that I never wanted Balotelli.

Very different examples of "poor attitude." As far as I know, Kono has never exhibited any sort of disruptive behavior.

When did we sign Balotelli? Did I miss a meeting?

I clearly said "wanted Spurs to sign" him. Where did I say "Spurs had signed him"?
There were many people on here who claimed at £15M it was worthy the risk.

Well, I don't know about you but I don't follow the details of Ukrainian football I must admit but according to several ITK he's known to have "attitude problems". If true (I do not know first hand) I rather now have him at Spurs - even if he's "attitude problems" are different to those of Balotelli.

The "attitude problems" alluded to iirc were arrogance and motivational issues.

As for the arrogance, IMO, that is something this current team could use a good bit of. I've never seen a professional side look so timid and scared over the ball for such large swathes of time as this current team, and a bit of self-belief and confidence somewhere could do us some good.

As for the motivational issues, you have to imagine it's difficult for a player who has proven he's good enough to leave that league and his team years ago, but his super wealthy owner has never allowed him to go. It's believed he's turned down massive bids for Kono from Dinamo Kiev, and of course a good bid and very firm intent from Liverpool a year ago. While I don't excuse it, I certainly understand it would be difficult to remain motivated considering such circumstances.

Either way, I don't see anything substantial enough to stand up against how tailor-made this guy's skillset is for what we're lacking atm.
