Konoplyanka would add direct pace and intensity to our attack.
I think we can get him in January for around £2 million.

I suppose at that price it's worth considering (if we shift Lennon and/or Andros)

Not really bothered about this fella though, to be honest.

Sell Lennon and Townsend for £18 million
Buy Konoplyanka for £3 mill + £1 mill signing on fee.

Gives you £14 mill + Holtby (£5 mill) + Paulinho/Dembele (£10 mill) gives you enough for Schneiderlin in January...

The way we're playing at the moment selling Lennon should be the last thing on anyone's mind. No one else we have knows how to get space for anything.

If we are trying to keep costs to a minimum he does strike me as a very good option. My only concern is why more teams aren't interested in him. I know there were murmurings about a lazy attitude and serious consistency issues but I have never read anything definitive. I will say that his goals/assist stats are good but not necessarily impressive all things considered, 8 goals and 6 assist in 27 league games last season is maybe a little underwhelming when considering the quality of opponent. However stats never tell the full story and one should never rely on them to heavily. Apart from a few internationals I have only really watched him in Europe and I must say on the whole I have always been impressed even when he hasn't been on top form. But people I talk to who pay more attention to Eastern European leagues seem to be a little less enamoured with him. He clearly needs to step up a level before any real judgment can be made. Ultimately I would prefer Thauvin, Firmino or Depay but all will cost big money were as Kono would prob cost a max of 4/5 mil so is essentially the more realistic option. As far as LW options go I would prefer him to J Rod as he just has more about his game and is more the type of player we need for our midfield.

Thauvin would be a great signing, but I would be surprised if we could pull that one off. Frimino is more of a second striker and we need someone who can provide width and Depay turned us down in summer (according to JJ) and I don't think we will have changed his mind with current performances.

Firmino did play quite a bit on the left last season for Hoffenhiem and I reckon he would be more then capable of playing that role for us but regardless of that, as I originally mentioned, I very much doubt we would really move for any of those three.

I'd personally prefer Andre Ayew, but wouldn't complain with either one. I just view Ayew as a way better fit for Poch's system.

Would be very surprised if he isn't subjected to Mitchell's fancy box given the Bielsa connection, so you very well may get your wish. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to Ayew either.

Yeah, for me it all just makes too much sense. Kind of like how Hector Moreno does. Ayew offers more pace to our current side, is creative yet can score, can play as a traditional winger and also is diverse in that he can play deeper and/or track back and really put in a good defensive shift. Seems to tick all the boxes for a "Poch-type player."

I just get that feeling kono has a bit of the Eden hazard about him that has close control and lightning acceleration and change of direction which we really need in attack at the moment. For the prices mentioned its a no brainer

Very much part of what I like about him. Not only does he have sheering pace that he uses to get to the byline, but he also has the ability and confidence to run right at defenders with the ball tight to his foot. He's a very versatile and unpredictable attacker from the wide position, and I think that's exactly something we could use right now to open things back up a bit.

Konoplyanka may be out of contract in June, but I can't imagine £2-4 mill getting it done when 3 or 4 teams were chasing him in the summer.

Depends on where he's willing to go. If he does truly want a move to England, I think the only competitive team for us who would be chasing him would be Liverpool. I hope he would have enough sense to realize West Ham won't remain in the top four for much longer.
