Depends on where he's willing to go. If he does truly want a move to England, I think the only competitive team for us who would be chasing him would be Liverpool. I hope he would have enough sense to realize West Ham won't remain in the top four for much longer.

If he likes pizza and pasta, he could choose Inter or Roma. If he wants a challenge, you're right, looks like Spurs or Liverpuddle.

I would be very surprised if he chose Italy over a legitimate offer from England, even if he does like oregano and marinara.

News today Liverpool are likely to trigger a clause to bring Origi to Merseyside early this winter. Unless they plan on playing him primarily at striker, which I doubt, I think this helps remove a viable suitor for Kono's signature this January.

Completely different player to Konoplayanka.

I think Origi for 10m was a really good bit of business, but he's an Adebayor type, plays central, holds the ball up. Konoplayanka is a pacey, direct wide forward.

Different, yes. But nonetheless, they're players who would occupy the same role. Would be very surprised if Liverpool brought in two players for the same position this January, especially since both would likely only agree to it on the premise of seeing first choice minutes.

The papers keep saying that but I'm pretty sure all parties have ruled this out and there isn't even anything that lets them do it (there is no clause).

Think they have to pay something like €6m to get Origi in january. Can't see them doing that unless Sturridge is crocked.

They don't play the same role at all. Konoplayanka plays wide (usually left). He's a very pacey, very direct type. Origi plays centrally. He's a striker but more in the Adebayor mould, drops deep, drifts wide either way to hold up and bring others in.

I know he plays there now for Lille, but I was of the impression that a) he was introduced to Lille's first team setup rough the left wing, and b) that part of his reasoning for staying with Lille on loan was that he was told were he to go immediately to Pool, that is where he would mostly play. My impression then is that their amped interest in immediate arrival is for the wing, or as others have mentioned ,striker if Sturridge will be out longer than expected.

Konoplyanka will be a agent based signing. Do we buy a player who the agent is trying to sell or do we buy a player who we consistently scout. If news reports & ITK are true that Levy will take a back seat & stop doing agent based buys, then I cant see this happening.

Origi is in a terrible form no goals in nearly 1000min in French league... Thats saying something,

That's a valid point, but at the end of the day I'm sure Levy has an amount allotted, and according to Trix we have a couple positions of higher priority in Poch's eyes. If we want an improvement for a good deal, I can't see any reason why this guy wouldn't be in the cards.

Ah, OK, I know nothing about those rumours or suggestions, all I know is what I have seen of them both. Maybe Origi has been played as a wide forward from the left in the early days, I've not seen it.
