Teemu

You want just 4 centre-backs? With our injury record? 2 of whom are Ledders and Woody?

Damn silly tactic there, Christ. Damn silly tactic.

I know Zokora and Hudd can cover, but what if we have injuries/suspensions in the midfield? I'd like one more player - preferably Gardner but Rocha has never let us down.

Although, to be fair, I suppose you havent counted Dervitte, and he should start stepping up soon.

Cerny's gone, baby, gone. I'd also be rather surprised if BAE plays another game for us.

And I doubt there is a war-chest as such. Juande will tell Levy what he wants, and Levy will sign the cheques. That appears to be the way things went in January, with £20m we weren't going to spend lashed out on the defence—and that might have been £30m+ if Tiago hadn't twatted us about, and the rumours about Amelia are true.

To be fair, the only central defender I've let go that plays for us fairly regulaly is Dawson - and he's been replaced by Jarque. Much as I like Rocha, it would appear that Ramos doesn't. As you said, Hudd and even Zokora can cover the position, as can promising ressies.

Yeah, I don't see Cerny staying much longer either.

BAE is proof that I can change my opinion on a player. I was not a fan at all for a good while with this lad, but the last few games I saw him in, I saw a real talent in him that I'd not noticed before. The kind that says, 'he's raw still, but this could be a big player for us'. The same feeling I get with Kaboul :) Unlucky for BAE, not long after the impressive games, and the fucker gets injured for the next 10 years :-(

I think there's definitely something there, and I certainly wouldn't write him off completely, but the fact that he'll have been out for effectively eighteen months is pretty worrying. The trouble is, even if we let Lee and Chimbonda go (and I think we probably will), he'll have slid way down the pecking order.

Ah, I getcha, Christ. Just listing the top 22. I hadn't seen your list of players sold. With Dervitte and Rocha added to your list, we're defo covered.

And I was just tweaking your nipplets anyhoo. That squad looks pretty tasty to me.

i think shimomba might stay. he's a solid player who ramos picks regularly. he also covers every position in the back four and is also an aerial threat from set pieces.

well, he'll line up anywhere across the back, but how long he'll stay at the back after the kick off is anyones guess...

He needs to watch that dull as sh*t Boro game last night - he needs to watch the entire game as punishment for not trying hard enough, then he needs to have that backtracking and outstanding tackle Beattie threw in played over and over again. THAT'S what you're meant to do when the oppo break and you're out of position, not turn round and watch them charge into the gap you just left :p

gah! don't get me started.. scruffinruffinmuffinsnuffin... grrrr...

I agree about BAE, we know how difficult it is for a player to adapt from the French League to the Premier League and he was no exception, also am I right in thinking that Steed started playing in front of him just before his injury?
A lot of us were shouting that our left backs were unprotected and were having to cover two roles LB and LM so a good left wing must help.

Doesn't Diego Capel's contract end in 2009? If so then we'd have some power in potential negotiations with Sevilla.

Diego Capel - £10million
Carlos Kameni - £10million
David Albelda - FREE!!!

He might. But my feeling is that we're as likely to see him at the Lane next season as the players are to see Lardy Cake in the canteen.

Mmmm. Lardy Cake.

I think you may well be onto something there. The first I genuinely thought he played bloody well (at the time when I didn't rate him at all) was this game. As you pointed up (bloody good spot by the way :)), Steed hadn't been in the team that long (we'd signed him on August deadline day, but he was still injured).

Here's to hoping Benny will know the language a bit when he comes back. Shame that you never seem to see him out with the lads like Kaboul :-(

y are loadsa ya sayin get rid of chimbonda? dont u think he was a gd buy? Zokora f*cked up quite a few times in the carling cup (soz for the language)...but i think its just because he was trying to hard.

40mil...hmmm...
We deffo need a new goalie put it that way...or give robinson loads of caffeine to keep him awake during the match...

i think the £40m figure bandied around isn't going to be realistic. i think the board will finance deals that Juande and Comolli want, maybe up to a maximum of £40m but I really don't see us spending that amount.

I think we'll trim the squad, outgoings:

Gardner
Stalteri
Ghaly
Cerny

Expendables(sp?) (if the money is right)

Rocha
YPL
Assou Ekotto

Incoming

Brown (Man U) Free
Albeida (Valencia) Free
Capel (Sevilla) £8m (reported release clause)

A GK. either Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax) or Manuel Neuer (Schalke) circa £8m

Those incomings would do me!

I'd like to see us go for Lucho Gonzalez, Jarque, Escudero, Albelda, Diego, Ramsey & a GK (maybe ustari/amelia?)

Is it not a distinct possibility that SpursKing has actually topped himself following IC's failure at the ACN?
